Time to speed things up!

We’re all looking forward to a break as we wrap up 2023 but why put recruitment on hold when you can actually speed things up when it comes to the hiring process.

Let’s elaborate…

1.?????? More candidates: In a year when candidates have been scarce it’s time to snap them up quickly whilst you can towards year end! Some companies do pause recruitment towards year end as it's time for a break and everyone is going on leave. More candidates are easily available to you so you will have the pick of the crop and less competition.

2.?????? Reduced risk of competing offers: Candidates are looking for a change and an increase in salary. Candidates have had lots of jobs to choose from and are often in receipt of multiple offers which in turn have driven up salaries. Fewer employers are recruiting at this time of year so there’s a window of opportunity when there’s a reduced risk of competing offers. This is a good period and time to secure the best talent without breaking your budget.

3.?????? The process can be quicker: December is a quieter period where projects are coming to completion and, depending on the industry, there may be less pressure/demand for your products and services. This is a good time for you to expedite the recruitment process and to conduct interviews. In addition, candidates can find it easier to attend interviews and are less likely to arouse suspicion with their current employer and make excuses to take a short time off for Christmas shopping or Dental appointments which is very obvious.

4.?????? Hit the ground running in January: It is easier to deal with candidates that are available immediately or with a short notice period then there’s still time to interview, offer and onboard before Christmas. The new recruits will benefit from the extra time that you will have to train them, and also the chance to integrate with the team during a quieter period and the opportunity to take part in company festivities. It’s an easier way to hit the ground running in January.
