Recruiting and Developing the next crop of Leaders

Whether it is recruiting externally or developing internal talent, building leadership capability is, in my opinion, the number one driver for success within any organisation.

Some of the key things to look for when either recruiting or choosing internal talent to develop include:

1. Passion - A passion for learning and self-development increases the likelihood that they'll continue to grow and succeed.

2. Communication skills - Includes Listening, ability to express themselves and present information.

3. Collaborative - They'll surround themselves with other talented people and are team players.

When young talent starts to engage with senior level leaders and well-rounded employees, they pick up on good habits and learn new skills.

To emphasise finding and cultivating the next generation of effective leaders, companies must turn to their recruiting process.
