Recruiters shift focus from IT as hiring remains slow

Recruitment firms in India have started shifted their focus away from IT to other sectors such manufacturing, retail and auto. This is to compensate for the hiring slowdown in the IT sector, the report says.

Candidates with digital skills are the most wanted in sectors such as EV, manufacturing, retail and FMCG. Junior to middle management roles have seen an increase in demand. However, only 20%-30% people are looking to switch jobs, most of these job switches are coming from small and mid-sized IT firms, rather than the larger ones.

" About 18 months ago, 80% of our placements were from IT sector; now it is 40% ".
