Recruiters have their own unique methods employed when analyzing job applications. Little details can give great insight into what sort of person the applicant is and whether how they present themselves in the resume is an accurate reflection of who they truly are.

One of the skills that HR professionals use daily is the ability to read between the lines. Job seekers can be quite honest in some parts of their application, but few are always reliable. Identifying the relevant details can bridge the information gap and determine if the applicant deserves a chance to be interviewed.

In today's competitive job market recruiters try to find the best talent but how do you plan on getting the attention of potential employers? Do you know what recruiters are looking for in their ideal candidate??

o ? Connect yourself to the company’s values and create a personal connection

  • Receptive:

The ability to be taught is an important skill and characteristic that many recruiters look for. Even though you may have background knowledge of your function, recruiters like to see applicants willing to learn and expand their knowledge beyond what they already know.?

  • Continuity:

Learning the ropes of a new job and carving a place within a team takes time. However, one whose career trajectory shows frequent jumps appears to not have the determination and stamina to stick around long enough to make a difference. Certainly, there are exceptions — for example, when one needs to take time off to take care of their family or faces obstacles along their path.

  • High EQ:

Companies want to hire employees that have high EQ or high emotional quotient. Candidates with low EQ tend to damage the work environment as they demotivate themselves and the other employees, leading to management getting involved to rectify the situation.

  • Communication:

Communication is of utmost importance in any workplace and a candidate with good communication skills is more likely to be hired by recruiters.

The candidate should be smart and know their way around all types of verbal and nonverbal communication mediums like social media emails, telephonic communication, face-to-face conversations, appropriate body language and gestures, and others. This quality helps build good business relations and deal with other functions in an organization. Even if a candidate gets rejected in the interview, good communication can help them stay connected with the employer for any opportunities in the future.
