Recruiter in review #4

While each interviewer is unique, and their approach may alter based on the job and industry, Diana, recommends to be confident in yourself and your skills and to clearly communicate your objectives for the future.

Read her insights below ???:

How can a candidate stand out in a dynamic recruitment market?

????Diana:? Lately, I have been asked a lot about what employers are looking for in their new colleagues and how a candidate can stand out in this highly dynamic market. We tend to think that making a good impression is all about being “the perfect fit”.

And who doesn’t want to be the their best version? But, being the best is not the secret recipe for success.

In my opinion, connection is.

Nowadays, it's about the way we connect and communicate with others.

I recently met one of my candidates. She was a really good fit for one of our open roles, so I scheduled a technical interview for her. After that interview, we realized that she was over-qualified for the role and it won’t be motivating enough for her in the long run. So, we had to reject her for the role in question. However, as we believed she is a great match for us, we proactively opened a position in two different projects and presented them to the candidates to choose from.

Making good connections and communicating well generate good consequences.?

Do you remember a candidate that pleasantly surprised you or the manager ?

????Diana: Every candidate has a different story and I learn something from every conversation I have. I’m grateful that I have the opportunity to listen other people's stories and find out their vision about career, job, salary and development.

One of the memories I will never forget happened five or six years ago.

We were recruiting for an entry-level position and we used to have face-to-face interviews. I noticed that the candidate was really nervous and I was preparing to say something to break the ice, but he went on first: “Thank you for this opportunity!”, and the manager said: “You don’t have to thank us, we didn’t give you the position just yet", "No, thank you for the opportunity to discuss with you”, and then, the candidate explained that he had problems getting to interviews due his lack of confidence.

He then made a great impression and got the job.

Why do you enjoy being a part of the Stefanini recruitment team?

????Diana: In Stefanini, I’ve rediscovered myself. It was such a big step forward for me. I relearned how to trust myself, how to be part of a team that is always willing to help. And, the most important part is that I relearned the feeling of belonging and having a purpose.

As a recruiter, it’s really important to trust what you sell, in this case, the company, as for candidates, making a career change is an important decision. Good news is, I really trust Stefanini and I am confident to guide candidates in this regard.

Any final message?

????Diana: Do you fancy a career change?

Changes can be hard for most of us and they take a lot of courage to leave your comfort zone. New manager, new team, new clients, maybe new ways of doing things. I understand and empathize with all the variables candidates are dealing with and I’m here to help.

Take a look on our career page and let me know what role is of interest to you.
