Hello!
We might not have an insta-worthy fall season in Mumbai, but this time around, the weather Gods decided to skip the heat and let the monsoon season last way into October, almost celebrating Diwali, leaving us humming “mausam mausam, tha suhana bada mausam mausam” through out. As unpredictable as the weather has been, the markets kept us guessing too! Is this a correction? A crash? A recovery? A recession?!?! Oh, the confusion I tell you!
Globally, this was a month of turmoil. The American markets are frantically trying to grapple with inflation, the European markets are attempting to pacify their political landscape, and the Russia-Ukrain war doesn’t seem to be slowing down. Yet, the Indian markets seem to have persisted!?
October brought with it some moments where our hearts skipped a beat, but overall, it was a good month that ended on a happy note…. at least for us! With Diwali marking the end of the month, the market sentiment ended on a high note and we’re all expecting a prosperous year forward!

Fin-Tip Of The Month ????
Diwali is behind us but the festive season isn't over yet! There's so much more coming up: weddings, Christmas, and birthdays!!! Somehow all my close friends including Niyati have their birthdays in Nov and Dec ???? Why are 90% of my friends Scorpions or Sagittarians!? Anyway, if you’re like me, this also means more and more kharcha! So here are a few ways in which I try to be mindful of my expenses:
First of all, recognize impulse buying - think twice before hitting that “confirm payment” button or swiping your credit card.
Secondly, categorize your purchases into buckets like groceries, commutes, EMIs, rent, and shopping!! It'll help you figure out if you should indulge in something or walk away.
And finally, It might sound silly, but utilize cash/debit cards as much as possible to limit unnecessary spending! Swiping your credit card is easy to forgive and forget, but using cash/debit card makes you more accountable to yourself.

Mutual Panga
You’ve heard us rave about diversifying investments time and again. So this time, we’ve curated a list of large-cap, global, low-duration, and floating-rate funds to nudge you onto the right path.
?If you’re looking to invest in the equity category, consider global funds since they have undergone a major correction recently, and it might make sense to add these in a staggered manner into your portfolio.
?In the debt category, it would be fitting to invest in funds that hold floating-rate instruments and those with a low duration because they are likely to be better positioned when interest rates are rising.
* These are our top picks based on performance as of 31st October 2022 ** Mutual Fund investments are subject to market risks, read all scheme-related documents carefully. The Mutual Fund is not guaranteeing or assuring any dividend under any of the schemes and the same is subject to the availability and adequacy of distributable surplus.***All the returns mentioned are for regular growth plans

?? Overnight MFs are a type of debt mutual fund that invest in overnight assets or securities. Basically, they invest in debt products with a residual maturity of one day (they mature overnight!). This is a new category of debt funds that was introduced as part of SEBI's mutual fund reclassification exercise in 2018.
???They can be a good option to invest your emergency fund, or any amount you want accessible, but don’t want to keep in a savings account.
