RECOVERY.
Hoping that all of our friends and family in the Coastal region are safe, out of harm's way and finding ways to recover from Hurricane Harvey's destruction. This is a photo a friend sent me of her son and daughter-in-law realizing it was time to get them out! They were fine from the rain, but the releasing of the reservoir within hours flooded their house to 7' of water. This is just one story of the devastation our friends lived last week and we know there are thousands of people out there in a similar circumstance. Our hearts go out to all that were affected by this storm. We pray for a speedy process on rebuilding.
Here is some helpful information from the National Weather Service website: Flooding is a coast to coast threat to the United States and its territories nearly every day of the year. This page is designed to teach you how to stay safe in a flood event. If you know what to do before, during, and after a flood, you can increase your chances of survival. Here you will find an interactive flood map, information describing the different types of flooding, educational material, and resources on how the National Weather Service keeps you aware of potentially dangerous flooding situations.
