Hi! I'm Leah Neaderthal. I'm a sales coach for women consultants and the founder of Smart Gets Paid.
When I left my corporate career and started my first consulting business, I learned three things very quickly:
1- It’s 1000x harder to sell your own stuff than to sell someone else’s.
2- Marketing is not selling.
3- I had no idea how to sell.
I needed clients, but I didn’t know how to actually get them, and I was terrified of coming off like a used car salesman. It made me doubt whether I was even cut out to run a business.

1 年This really resonated. I've been in business for more than 20 years and last year was probably my absolute worst. But like you said, the silver lining is that it forced me into action/change. I joined a coaching program a couple months ago that has been a game changer. I wouldn't have done it if not for the terrible year, so I'm grateful for the nudge of adversity.

1 年I was just talking to a trusted advisor this morning who told me his long-term observation is that we give up too fast. In other words, we often have unrealistic expectation for how long it will take to reach a goal and how much persistence it will require.
