RECORD YEAR AND TURNAROUND FOR PRIMERA AIR

RECORD YEAR AND TURNAROUND FOR PRIMERA AIR

This year has indeed been very good for Primera Air as the airline is now enjoying what looks to be a record year and reaping the fruits of a re-engineering of its organization last year which mainly consisted of consolidating its operations in 3 countries and joining them all together in our new offices in Riga.

Primera Air has gathered a team of almost 100 specialists to work at its new offices in Riga. The direction and control of the fleets of 2 combined airlines or Primera Air Nordic and Primera Air Scandinavia is done from the Latvian offices.

Primera Air has transported over 550.000 passengers in the first 7 months of the year and expects that number to rise to 1 million before end of year. Profits from operations now stand at 4 million EUR and the revised profitability forecast calls for 7.6M EUR at year′s end.

The major organizational changes and change of guard in the senior management team in the last 2 years have meant that Primera Air is now one of the most competitive airlines in Europe in regards to achieving the highest standard of efficient operations. The implementation of a new operational control center (Network Control Center) and the establishment of a redesigned and dynamic Commercial Department in Riga with a revamped website was both complicated and expensive but has brought the airline a major change in positive direction which then leads to more efficient operations.

The airline flies to over 70 destinations this year with its 8 Boeing Next- Generation aircraft. The airline operates 3-4 planes from Denmark, 2 in Sweden, 1 each in Finland and Iceland and then 1 is leased out to other operators on the so-called ACMI market. Denmark is Primera Air′s biggest market. The airline will add 2 aircraft in 2017 in light of increased demand.

Primera Air flies primarily for the tour operators belonging to the Primera Air Travel Group and other Nordic travel companies but has in addition greatly added to its offering of seats sold directly to passengers via its website to many of its most popular destinations.
