Record Reduction in Cost Per Sold Hour for Customers using Inventory Management System

ACIS has reported that in a study over the first half of 2024, users of its Inventory Management System (AIMS), have showed a significant reduction in their costs per sold hour due to the automated and granular nature of how the stock of paint and dry consumables is controlled.

ACIS, the UK’s largest network of independent distributors to the accident repair industry, launched the web-based Inventory Management System in 2022 as a successor to the widely used Ascribe platform and it is now operational in hundreds of repairers across the UK. The intuitive, user-friendly handheld scanners record all items booked out from the bodyshop’s? stock room, accurately reporting costs by technician, department and job number.

When supplies run low, AIMS automatically generates a purchase order for the local ACIS distributor to get the bodyshop back up to its agreed preset stock levels, meaning it will never run out of stock or be overstocked. This automation streamlines the ordering process allowing the time saved to be utilised more constructively elsewhere in the business.

John Matthews, ACIS’s CEO commented, “Costs for bodyshops are close to an all-time high so every step of the repair process needs vigilance to maintain profitability. For those who have installed the AIMS system, they quickly see a reduction in their costs per sold hour, directly impacting their bottom line, and if issues arise around product usage, they have multiple reports at their fingertips to quickly identify and address the cause. AIMS really has been a game changer for many of our customers.”
