Record green ?? investment for an unstoppable energy transition

Hello again! We are back with more news and insights from the world of Iberdrola! A lot has happened these last few weeks – but all is positive??. To start, we presented our financial results for 2023. We were delighted to announce that we had set a new investment record, more than 11.3 billion euros across the year, and more than 33.5 billion euros in the last 3 years, This allowed us to support the economies and deliver jobs in the countries where we operate and reach a net profit of 4.8 billion euros last year.

Among the TOP ???? companies

We were recently ranked among the 10 cleanest companies in the world again, this time in the "Clean200" ranking of "Corporate Knights". The only Spanish company in the top 50, ranked according to the percentage of sales obtained from the sustainable economy. Our pioneering commitment to clean energy more than 20 years ago has allowed us to get this far.

Additionally, the Ethisphere Institute, a leading entity in defining standards of good business practices, has just recognized us for the eleventh consecutive year as one of the most ethical companies in the world in the #2024WorldsMostEthicalCompanies.

We continue to be the only Spanish company present in this ranking, which also includes our US subsidiary Avangrid. It is an honor to be part of this ranking year after year, and we will continue to work to remain one of the most ethical companies.

Renewables around the world ??

This week in our section of "Renewables around the world" we have a lot to tell you.

???? First of all, we go to Italy, where we have announced the construction of the largest solar plant in the country: "Phoenix". This 245 MW megaproject will be located in Sicily and will supply green energy to 140,000 Italian families, avoiding the emission of 119,000 tons of CO2.

???? We are also going from strength to strength with our U.S. offshore wind farm. Vineyard Wind I, the nation's first large-scale offshore project. We already have five turbines in operation, providing clean energy to 30,000 families and businesses in the state of Massachusetts. Once completed, this number will increase to 400,000.

???? And finally, we successfully completed the sale of mainly combined cycle power plants in Mexico for $6.2 billion. We will retain commercial and renewable projects in the country and continue to increase our commitment to clean energy in the coming years.

Last week we celebrated the 2022-2023 Iberdrola scholarship awards. The King of Spain, accompanied by the Executive Chairman of Iberdrola, took charge of presenting the scholarships on the day, covering a wide variety of training programmes promoted by our company ??

As part of our commitment to talent, we have also recruited 1,011 young people ???????? in 2023, reaching a total of 30,000 in the last decade – working in important positions all across our company.
