Reconstructing Reality

“Reality is nothing but a culmination of the fantasies that go on in our minds from time to time”

You’ve probably heard this on our Instagram page before. So now we delve deeper into that quote this time around. Every instance so far that has happened in our lives is a consequence of our pre-emptive thinking. We barely tend to notice it but everything that has taken shape or manifested is a result of this.

From time and time again there have been numerous accounts of this correlation existing in the world. Yet we barely do take time to understand and analyze the confluence of these thought behavior. Now that we’re familiar with this ordeal, it’s time to think of constructive ideas by which you can put it into practical shape. After all, if the human mind is capable of such prowess why would we not want to put it into the test?

I came to discover and learn most of the ideas by reading the book The Code of the Extraordinary Mind written by Mindvalley founder Vishen Lakhiani. It is a gem of a book and if you want to bring about a cataclysmic change in your life structure, it ought to be your number one priority. Now it is but entirely possible to bring about a significant change in your life by simply changing your perspective on how you view life. This forms the basis of our first foray into the field of reconstructing reality:

Changing your models of reality:

So far in life, we have been encountering every single piece of information with a fixed mindset. This mindset shapes, evolves and controls every aspect of your life therein. From the day you were born up until now, every single one of them has had a tantalizing impact on your life so far. The surprising thing is that you might not even notice it’s effects creeping up but it’s there looming like an omnipresent shadow following every single one of our endeavors.

The very early stages of this model are usually instilled in the first seven years of our existence where we gradually come to discover and explore the world. From there on it’s a further affirmation or creation of new ideas into this existing workspace. What differs when you go beyond the age of seven is that it requires a more conscious effort on your part to induct any further change. In the early stages, all of these ideas get instilled in us almost subconsciously and we need not take much effort to get them out in practice but as we age the ability starts to dwindle in terms of practicality.

Now the question arises – can we modify or change this state of reality as we view it? Yes, it’s entirely possible but it would require much more conscious effort on our part to facilitate that.

Changing your belief system:

The next target of our step to alter reality is to change our belief system. If the models of reality constitute the hardware, then the system of beliefs are what make up the software. The beliefs are what constantly evolve and set the tone for your life. They act as the precedent for all your actions that take place thereon. The beliefs fill up the void that you have set as reality and they form as the catalyst for your actions which therein solidifies your existence. All of the beliefs which we hold true are influenced by multiple factors. They arise as a result of being passed down by our parents, relatives, school, society, etc. As they stream in one after the other they slowly embed themselves into your system with consistent intention. The biggest worry in this framework is that there isn’t exactly a control system to monitor the flow of thoughts and information that creep into your mind. Moreover, even if there was one a filter to identify the ones that separate these ideas before considering them is well non-existent.

The modern world is a combination of all these ideas that we have come to put into practice through conscious engineering. At times the biggest worry that creeps up is that we do not question these ideals but merely accept them as they are. Much of the beliefs that we hold are the ones that have been passed through generations of unquestioning faith. Just imagine the same ideals that have existed the times of your grandparents are the ones that you have been following unwittingly and who knows the ideas that they followed may have been imbibed from their parents or their ancestors even before them. You can never know.

The best way to go about this conundrum is to question every aspect of the human culturescape that goes into deep conflict and choose what’s right for you rather than going on about what the society tells is right. Take that path and you may well be down the road to regret. This is your life, your reality. You’ve got the power to choose what to believe in and whatnot. You decide to take into consideration what will affect you. Don’t get trapped by the voice of the outside world.

Believe in a reality where you can truly be who you want to be, believe in one where there is no dearth of opportunities and possibilities to make that grand design that you’ve been plotting your whole life for. Look deep within and get to know that you have more power within you to change and reconstruct your reality.
