1 . Google Summer of Code

Google Summer of Code is a global, online mentoring program focused on introducing new contributors to open source software development. GSoC contributors work on a 12+ week programming project with the guidance of mentors from their open source organization. Participating contributors are partnered with mentors from open source groups during Google Summer of Code, getting exposure to real-world software development practices. Contributors will learn from experienced open source developers while working on real-world projects! As an incentive, a little financial assistance is provided. 2 . Microsoft Reinforcement Learning Open Source Fest

Microsoft’s Reinforcement Learning (RL) Open Source Fest is a global online program that introduces students to open-source reinforcement learning programs and software development while working alongside researchers, data scientists, and engineers from Microsoft Research NYC on the Real World Reinforcement Learning team. The duration of this program is 4 months, which is usually held either during the summer period (May - August) or fall period (September - December). Accepted students will receive a stipend of $10,000 USD and these selected students will be paid their stipend at the start of the internship program? directly to the students’ academic institution.

3 . Linux Kernel Mentorship Program

The Linux Kernel Mentorship Program provides prospective Linux Kernel engineers with a structured remote learning opportunity. It seeks to broaden the diversity of the Linux Kernel community while also working to make the kernel more safe and sustainable. The mentees are mentored by experienced Linux Kernel developers and maintainers who help them become contributors to the Linux Kernel. The initiative is used to reach out to students and developers in order to bring new talent into the Linux Kernel community. Every year, three 12-week full-time volunteer mentee roles and two 24-week part-time volunteer mentee positions are available through the Linux Kernel Mentorship Program. The Linux Kernel Mentorship Program will provide location-based Stipends thanks to support from the Linux Foundation.

4 . Hyperledger Mentorship Program

The Hyperledger mentoring program aims to provide a structured hands-on learning opportunity for new developers who might otherwise miss out on exposure to Hyperledger open source development and entrance into the technical community. It also gives Hyperledger a more defined path to interact with the next generation of student developers in order to inject more talent into its developer community. Stipends will be provided to mentees. The overall stipend amount will be computed using a tiered system depending on the mentee's country of residence at the time of participation in the program, as this program is done remotely. The stipend will be given in installments if frequent interval reviews show that the intern is progressing well. The final amount will be paid upon successful completion of the project.

5 . Outreachy

Outreachy offers open source internships to individuals who are exposed to systematic bias and are underrepresented in the technological field in which they live. . Projects for outreachy internships may involve programming, research, user experience, documentation, graphical design, data science, marketing, user advocacy, or event organizing. Outreachy internships are paid - a total internship stipend of $7,000 USD - and will be completed remotely. This internship program is available from May to August, or from December to March.?
