Recognizing the unsung architects of grassroots change

This World NGO Day, we celebrate the relentless efforts of organizations working to create a more equitable world. Over 10 million registered NGOs worldwide, are improving lives and tackling grassroot challenges with their initiatives.

Despite this, much of their impact often goes unnoticed. For instance, in India, while over 3 lakh NGOs are registered, many operational ones remain unrecognized and underfunded due to inadequate mapping and impact assessment tools.

At #InfosysFoundation, we stand with and support these changemakers. Our NGO partners help amplify the impact of the Foundation's initiatives, by ensuring that they reach the people most in need. Today, we acknowledge them for their contributions in FY24 across our key focus areas, as they continue driving meaningful change.

Education

• Agastya Foundation promotes STEM learning in remote parts of Assam, making education accessible to underserved communities.
• CITTA Education Foundation India empowers underprivileged female students through free, activity-based education in the deserts of Rajasthan.
• GoSports Foundation provides support for world-class training and infrastructure to sports academies, enabling athletes to access better training opportunities.
• Nirmaan Organization trains women in-demand technical and soft skills, equipping them to join the workforce confidently.

These initiatives have opened doors to knowledge and opportunity for over 4 lakh people.

Healthcare

• C-CAMP modernizes medical facilities to innovate maternal and newborn care technologies, estimated to benefit 50K women and nearly 5K newborns.
• The Antara Foundation improves access to healthcare in rural areas for 1 lakh women by training healthcare workers.
• Visakha Jilla Nava Nirmana Samithi (VJNNS) provides clean drinking water for over 1.5 lakh individuals in rural communities.

These initiatives have strengthened the healthcare landscape and significantly improved the quality of many families.

Women Empowerment

• Sangath addresses postpartum mental health challenges through community training, benefiting thousands of women and children.

Environmental Sustainability

• Malligawad Foundation rejuvenated lakes in Bengaluru, conserving water and biodiversity.
• Society for Advancement of Human Endeavour (SAHE) to restore historic stepwells, addressing water scarcity and promoting cultural conservation.

These initiatives have positively impacted over 4 lakh people by preserving resources and promoting sustainability.
