Recognizing the Signal for Help could save a life in your workplace or community.

If someone you know confided in you about experiencing abuse, would you know how to help?

Gender-based violence is often surrounded by stigma and silence. Many people who face abuse feel ashamed, silenced, and stigmatized. Additionally, many others feel unsure or unprepared to offer the support needed.

The Signal for Help is a simple one-handed gesture that someone experiencing abuse can use to indicate they need support. But if you saw it on a video call, in person, or online, would you know how to respond?

Don’t worry, The Canadian Women's Foundation has us covered. If you’d like to learn more about how you can support a friend, family member, or colleague who is experiencing abuse, please click on this link.

This knowledge empowers us to take action, provide resources, and create a supportive environment, ultimately contributing to a safer and more compassionate society.
