Recognizing Our Rockstar Employees | Q&A with Ying Li

Ying was voted as a rockstar for Driven as she has taken it upon herself to be the front woman supporting the business for all things post-funding. Ying is always monitoring our daily funding and collection batches and jumps on any issues that arise. She’s very active in our support channel and constantly makes sure everyone is well-positioned to do their best.

Today we sat down to learn a bit more about Ying and what she does at Driven. ?

Tell us about yourself.

I joined Zetatango about four and half years ago as one of the first-day employees and then joined Driven (previously, Thinking Capital) via a merger of the two companies. I am currently a principal developer and the lead of the data team. In my spare time, I like to read a good book. ??

What’s your experience been like working at Driven?

Working at Driven is different from all my previous jobs. Here I get to work closely with people from very diverse cultural and professional backgrounds. My previous experience was mainly in telecom, so fintech was quite a new concept to me, but it turned out to be an area I really enjoy working in. Almost every day I learn something new about financial services from people all across the company. Also, rather than just being "a cog in the machine," here you see how a feature you built is being used by either internal stakeholders or our customers and that's very fulfilling.

What interesting projects are you working on right now?

Right now, I am involved in a few initiatives that share the same theme to improve operational efficiency. We are taking baby steps, but I can see how they fit in the grand scheme of things. I like the direction we are going and the impacts the projects will bring.
