Recognizing the ‘Best-Of-The-Best’ Supply Chain Talent

It’s no secret that the scramble for supply chain talent is in full effect worldwide. With nearly a third of today’s supply chain professionals at or past retirement age, and an estimated 6:1 ratio of supply chain jobs-to-qualified-applicants, there’s no sign of demand slowing anytime soon.

Leading business schools are stepping up to help fill the gap. USC Marshall spotted supply chain opportunities early, establishing a dedicated research center in 2004 and launching a Master of Science in Global Supply Chain Management program for working professionals in 2013.

USC Marshall also has a tradition of recognizing the best-of-the-best supply chain talent worldwide at its Annual Supply Chain Excellence Summit. Among this year’s honorees is IBM’s own Jeanette Barlow, Vice President of Strategy and Offering Management for Watson Supply Chain. Jeanette was recognized for her outstanding leadership in supply chain and for paving the way for young, female professionals aspiring to the field.

At IBM, Jeanette and her team bring to market supply chain solutions that use Artificial Intelligence to help our clients build smarter, predictive and more transparent supply chains. As her colleague and friend, I’m proud to see her leadership and passionate commitment to supply chain innovation recognized by USC Marshall and her peers industry-wide.
