Earlier this summer, one of Atlanta’s Westside Future Fund Friday morning presentations originated from the @Promise Center on the city’s Westside. Spelman College President Beverly Tatum moderated. It was the first WFF meeting following the killing of George Floyd. Everyone was hurting. Insightful and frank comments were abundant. Derrick Jordan of National Church Residences had one of the most insightful (paraphrasing): One must first RECOGNIZE the problem. Then one must DECIDE something has to be done, but not just decide. One must actually DO something to make change happen and fix the problem. Those powerful words have led to a crowd-funding campaign for the @Promise Center in which every person who donates $50 or more, receives a RECOGNIZE-DECIDE-DO t-shirt to inspire us to do exactly that. Please go to the site and donate to get your t-shirt today to support those economically and educationally challenged. The shirts were designed by award winning creative designer Brad Copeland. Others on the panel that day were Lakeisha Walker (@Promise Center Exec Dir), John Ahmann (Pres/CEO Westside Future Fund) and Xavier Warner (@Promise Center youth member). #WestsideFutureFund #PromiseCenter #MySafeATL #BradCopelandDesign #SpelmanCollege #GeorgeFloyde #BLM
