Recogni Announces Pegasus PCIe Card for Autonomous Mobility Solutions

Recogni Inc. has made available its Pegasus PCIe card that allows Recogni’s Scorpio, a 1,000 TOPS (Peta-Op) class inference solution for autonomous mobility, to be configured for any autonomous mobility application. As described in a press release from Recogni, the Pegasus PCIe card works in concert with the Recogni SDK to increase Scorpio’s compute capabilities, which, according to the company, are low power consumption, low latency, and a reduced system cost.

“The need for autonomous capability is growing rapidly across all forms of transportation, and Recogni is committed to providing the most powerful, purpose-built solutions for autonomous mobility, regardless of use case,” explained Marc Bolitho, CEO of Recogni. “Being able to easily integrate Scorpio into any autonomous mobility application with our new Pegasus PCIe card and Recogni’s SDK showcases the multiplatform flexibility, as well as the robustness and readiness of our solutions.”?

Pegasus PCIe Card Specifications

Pegasus can process up to four eight-megapixel cameras to provide front and surround views, leveraging the Recogni SDK to convert, compile, profile, and deploy models. Perception output includes 3D object detection, vulnerable road user detection, lane detection, free space detection, and traffic light and sign detection. As described by Recogni, this breadth of capability makes Pegasus suited for a variety of autonomous mobility applications, from trucking, robotaxis, and delivery vehicles to drones and aviation. “We’re pleased to empower our customers with system architectural flexibility and fast deployment in autonomous mobility applications,” Bolitho added.

Recogni In The News

In January 2023, Recogni announced the availability of?the Phoenix ADAS/AD ECU system , an open-source computing platform for autonomous applications. The Phoenix platform combines Recogni’s Scorpio AI inference processor and the Renesas R-Car V4H SoC for configurations up to 2,000 TOPS, the highest TOPS per watt capacity on the market, according to Recogni.?

In August 2022, RK Anand, Chief Product Officer for Recogni, spoke on the value of first principles during an episode of AutoVision News Radio and why the “middle layer” will be a crucial area of focus for automakers as they move towards autonomous and electrified platforms.??
