Questioning Everything...
Many of us engage in the pursuit of happiness and leading a fulfilling and meaningful life. Yet, our reality is that we have become dependent on external sources like family, society, and social media to provide us with a sense of self, security, and certainty. This submission of our autonomous, critical thinking has created a barrier to achieving an authentically fulfilling life, unique to each of us.

My Beliefs Are What I Am Taught
Our journey begins as a child born into a culture with specific beliefs, values, and standards, all dependent on our generation, influential elements of that time, and the factors that have impacted our parents. As a child, we learn to walk, talk, and navigate our world, and our minds are naturally shaped by those around us. This level of influence has broadened over the generations as technology has made information more accessible and borders non-existent. Our primary goal during this impressionable time is to survive and grow with the information and messages that we are taught and exposed to. However, as we grow these become ingrained beliefs that begin to take on a life of their own, influencing the way we think.
Without even realizing it, our likes, dislikes, values, and goals are shaped by these external influences; like going to school, getting a job, marrying, or retiring. These goals can vary slightly depending on the family, demographics, and generation—some might emphasize moral and religious success, others academic or entrepreneurial success, etc. The common thread, however, is that how we think and our thoughts are often unexamined, and simply handed down from generation to generation.
Pause for a moment and consider the implications of this idea. I am suggesting that we have inherited a mental framework, thoughts and beliefs that we did not choose or design. We simply absorbed them, accepted and now act on them in our day to day lives. These thoughts directly affect our feelings, behavior and life experiences. Imagine the power of unlocking our perceptions of these learned thoughts and freeing ourselves of their limitations and confinement.
Are you ready to be liberated?
