?? Recess, Art History, and Action

Here are some recent snippets from my weekly review. Each week I look back and record takeaways from what I’ve been thinking, reading, and experiencing in the classroom and in life. Think, Learn, Share, Repeat.

  • Let Kids Play?— Research shows that recess is good for kids. They should get more of it, not less. Only nine states require it.
  • Art History?— Works of art are snapshots of history. Rewriting and censoring books are like erasing little pieces of history.
  • Classroom Management?— Combining classroom procedures, high expectations, and repeated practice lays a solid foundation for effective classroom management.
  • Slow Down?— Make a point to slow down and appreciate the surrounding beauty. In stillness, gratitude becomes easier to find.
  • Do It?— “The most effective way to do it, is to do it.” -Amelia Earhart
  • Action?— Learning is powerful. Reflecting is powerful. Both mean little without application.
