Recapping the Year with the End of Year Community Town Hall

It's been another incredible year for the Oasis Network! ?? At our End of Year Community Town Hall, we reviewed the major updates, partnerships, and tech releases the Oasis Network, ecosystem, and community achieved in 2023.

Product Launches: This past year we launched several products, setting the stage for the expansion of the Oasis ecosystem and the implementation of privacy for Web3 at large. Oasis Sapphire launched as the first and only confidential EVM in production, providing developers with customizable privacy that works out of the box.?The Oasis Privacy Layer — enabling plug & play programmable privacy — powered several new partnerships, enabling projects across the Web3 landscape to harness the power of Oasis Sapphire. Oasis Nexus — the first-party open-source indexer for the Oasis blockchain ecosystem — brings a new experience for analyzing and indexing data to Oasis users. Oasis Explorer — the first-party block explorer for Oasis — boasts a seamless experience across devices with new features, including support for Sapphire, NFT spotlights, and more.

Mainnet Upgrade to Eden: Our engineers and the Oasis community made major strides for the network with month-to-month improvements and the Mainnet Upgrade to Eden!

Smart Privacy: With the launch of the Smart Privacy Campaign at EthCC '23, we emboldened ourselves as the pioneers of Web3 privacy. Our unique solutions for programmable confidentiality, namely Oasis Sapphire and the Oasis Privacy Layer, have struck a chord with developers and users across Web3.

Hackathon: In line with our mission to provide Smart Privacy to all of Web3, we hosted the successful #P4W3 Privacy4Web3 Hackathon! Across four categories, twelve projects were chosen from a pool of outstanding submissions.

Partnerships: The Oasis ecosystem brought in several new projects and grants focused on building with Oasis Sapphire and OPL.

? Leveraging Oasis Sapphire, Ocean Protocol launched their new Predictoor dApp. Oasis Sapphire ensures user prediction data on Predictoor are kept private until specific conditions enable data sharing.

? This month, we also announced a new partnership with PixelRealm Labs (formerly NFTb) that will bring a first-of-its-kind gaming platform to Oasis Sapphire

? By integrating Oasis Sapphire's Smart Privacy into Crust Network's Crust Files, the Crust Files platform will offer end-to-end encryption and data secrecy for its users.

? With the support of an Oasis grant, Coinsender launched new asset management and distribution features powered by Oasis Sapphire!

? We successfully integrated the first cross-chain messaging bridge with Oasis Sapphire Mainnet — Celer Network’s Interchain Messaging (IM) Framework

? Synthr plans to launch syROSE, an omnichain, synthetic version of our native token ROSE that will be usable across multiple crypto ecosystems

? The first confidential DEX on Oasis Sapphire launched on Testnet: IlluminexSwap!

Community & Events: Beyond ecosystem partnerships and product launches, the Oasis Network grew in one of the areas that matters most: Community. Our community evolved with the introduction of the Oasis Odyssey program, the revamped Ambassador program (Sentinels), and the launch of Oasis Academy. Furthermore, with a strong presence at Consensus, EthCC, Devconnect, SmartCon, DappCon, and over 37 online events (and counting!), we spread the good word about Web3 privacy around the globe.

Team: As a team, we gathered in person to workshop the future of Oasis, exemplifying a culture of collaboration, growth, and innovation to pave a brighter future for blockchain at large. We also grew to include new talent, filling key roles across marketing, engineering, and more!

TL;DR: It's been a big year, and it'll be an even bigger year for Oasis in 2024!
