Recaping the start to 2022.
Sobah Beverages
Proudly Aboriginal owned and led, Sobah is Australia's first non-alcoholic craft beer company.
Phew! January has been one hell of a year! All the ups and downs... so we're excited for February, a new month, a new year (of the Tiger) and we're keen to get stuck into it! Please enjoy our recap and what's coming up.
A collaborative effort and a meaningful connection of community coming together for community.
Lead by Dr Clinton Schultz,?Redrum MC?(Australian chapter) and Sobah spent?Invasion/Survival Day?doing something positive for a community it need. After compiling household essentials and collecting donations of clothing, toiletries, sportswear, shoes and linen, with support from?Boots For One and All Community, we loaded a trailer to drive 7 hours west of the Gold Coast, flanked by 8 motorcycles.
While it poured with rain in?Moree?on Jan 26th and events were subsequently cancelled, our group headed an hour up the road to?Boggabilla?for their community BBQ and ceremony. We presented them with the donations (pictured above), leaving brother?Buddi Hippi?to distribute to where it's needed.?
Back in Moree we checked out one of our Sobah beer vendors?Yaama Ganu Gallery?(pictured above) and dropped in some stock to the?Wobbly Boot Pub?at Boggabilla (made "famous" in a 1982 song by Stan Coster and later performed John Williamson.) Stop in for a cold one sometime and meet the locals!
Natalie, Boots For One and All Community:
Sobah and Redrum MC were able to take a load of donations to the northern NSW communities of Moree, Boggabilla and Toomalah - Gamilaraay country - that was recently stricken by floods after a long period of drought. Collaborations and donation drives like these are so important for our remote Indigenous communities. The wider positive impact this has allows us to keep doing what we love to do. The run on affect shows our supporters where their donations are going. It is imperative to our organisation and means that we are able to see substantial growth with new support. Leaving a positive footprint enabling us to do what we love, providing donations to as many communities as possible so that we are always working toward our passion of having “No Mob Left Behind”?
The next coolest thing that happened...
We're so excited to have had the support from many of you who took a moment to put a vote on our Pepperberry IPA. On Saturday 22nd Jan the?GABS Hottest 100 Aussie Craft Beers of 2021?countdown revealed 3 no- and lo- beers for the first time ever. We're stocked with #69 - such an auspicious number! We're also ranked #57 out of the Indie breweries!?
Clinton nominated for a social impact accolade.
While he's not big on accolades, he was nominated by a colleague who believes?Dr Clinton Schultz?is deserving of recognition for the work he does. Voting is now closed thank you to everybody that gave Clinton a vote and we will update you once we know the outcome.
If you haven’t already, check out the action from #2022Impact25 across social media.?
