ICD Participates in IDFC Study on PDBs' Catalytic Role in Achieving UN SDGs:

On Thursday, February 16th, 2023, the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD) participated in the IDFC study on PDBs' catalytic role in achieving the UN SDGs, in collaboration with NatixisGSH. The ICD team member, Talal K Alobayd , shared his experience with the tool and expressed its usefulness even at a personal level.

The ICD is thrilled to share the tool with a second batch of their team and present their findings to their management. They expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to engage more effectively and efficiently and are committed to utilizing this tool to help them reach their goals.

This study will pave the way for PDBs to play a vital role in achieving the UN SDGs. The ICD's participation in this study is a significant step towards realizing their commitment to sustainable development.

ICD and ITFC Discuss Potential Line of Financing to Support Nigerian SMEs and Private Sector with Nexim's CEO:

The Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD) and the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC) met with Mr. Abubakar Abba Bello, the CEO of Nigerian Export Import Bank - NEXIM , and his accompanying delegation to discuss potential areas of collaboration. The meeting focused on extending a Line of Financing from ICD and ITFC to support Nigerian SMEs and the Private Sector.

The discussion centered on ways to enhance trade and investment opportunities for Nigerian businesses and entrepreneurs. The delegation from Nexim expressed their keen interest in working with ICD and ITFC to provide necessary financial support to the Nigerian private sector.

The ICD and ITFC management highlighted their commitment to supporting sustainable development in Nigeria, particularly in the areas of trade and investment. They expressed their willingness to work collaboratively with Nexim to provide the necessary financing support for the growth of SMEs and the private sector in Nigeria.

This meeting is a significant step towards building a strong partnership between ICD, ITFC, and Nexim. It is expected to pave the way for future collaborations and initiatives that will drive economic growth and development in Nigeria.

IsDB Group Holds Kick-off Meetings with Ministry of Finance Qatar and Banking Sector to Strengthen South-South Cooperation for Sustainable Development:

As part of the Qatar Member Country Partnership Strategy (MCPS), the @Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group, comprising Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) , The Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investment and Export Credit (ICIEC) , International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC) , and Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD) , began holding kick-off meetings with the Ministry of Finance Qatar and the banking sector. The meetings aim to strengthen existing relationships and leverage south-south cooperation for sustainable development.

Dr. Elvin Afandi, PhD , representing ICD, participated in the meeting, which highlighted the IsDB Group's commitment to supporting Qatar's development agenda. The discussions focused on exploring opportunities for cooperation and collaboration in areas such as trade, investment, and infrastructure development.

The IsDB Group and the Ministry of Finance Qatar reaffirmed their commitment to working together towards achieving Qatar's development goals. They emphasized the importance of south-south cooperation in promoting sustainable economic growth and development in the region.

The IsDB Group's participation in the kick-off meetings is a significant step towards strengthening partnerships and promoting sustainable development in Qatar. It reflects the IsDB Group's continued commitment to supporting member countries and fostering south-south cooperation to achieve the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.

I wish that the IDB follow up the initiative that was approved and signed with a Qatari???? organization to finance out of school childrren.
