MaDiTraCe kick-off event in Paris 2023
Our Chief Innovation & Solution Officer,?Dr. Susanne Guth-Orlowski, along with our Business Developer,?Johannes Ebert, are at the?MaDiTraCe project?kick-off event hosted by the project coordinator,?BRGM.
The project aims to develop material and digital traceability for critical raw materials. In addition, it will also enlarge and integrate the portfolio of technological solutions, reinforcing the reliability of critical raw material (CRM) and the transparency of complex supply chains.
Spherity is excited to be one of the funded project partners, working on the technological traceability solution and its integration into the currently arising digital product passport landscape in Europe.
Spherity's Digital Product Passport: The Future of Supply Chain Management
A digital product passport (DDP) is a digital record that contains information about a product's origin, ingredients, and life cycle. It's like a digital twin of each physical product, carrying data about itself and collecting more data along its journey.
Take a look at how we show how to scan a battery's QR code to access its product passport. In this video, you'll be taken to the DPP vie the globally unique decentralized identifier (DID) of the battery. Here, you'll be able to view the public information about the battery passport e.g. public certificates, recycling information, etc.
Spherity's DPPs allow supply chain actors to have full transparency into how products are produced, consumed, and recycled. Thus, a step closer to enabling a circular economy.?

Presentation of the battery passport at World Economic Forum 2023
As part of the?Global Battery Alliance (GBA)?presentation of the battery passport at the annual meeting of the?World Economic Forum?(WEF),?Spherity?and the?Government of British Columbia (B.C. Government), are introducing the secure exchange of sustainability information using digital trust technology. Spherity and The B.C. Government are members of the GBA and thus shows the exchange of signed GHG emission reports and company (mining) licenses between supply chain actors as a potential technology to make?digital product passport?data verifiable.
Using decentralized identifiers and verifiable credentials is part of the Energy & Mines Digital Trust (EMDT) project concept initiated in November 2020 by the B.C. Government in partnership with TELUS. It is establishing a collaborative digital ecosystem between the B.C. Government, natural resource companies, and global organizations worldwide for the secure exchange of product & company information. The EMDT expedites the global exchange of trusted sustainability data with investors, purchasers, and regulators.

European Identity and Cloud Conference (EIC) 2023: Credentialing-enabled Zero Trust Architecture for API Endpoint-Security
To protect a modern digital enterprise, companies need a comprehensive strategy for securely accessing their IT resources such as applications, physical access control systems, portals, data resources, and devices, wherever they are located. Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) refers to security concepts and threat models that no longer assume that actors, systems, or services operating within the security perimeter are automatically trusted. Instead, they must verify everything and everyone who attempts to connect via an API to their systems resources before granting access.
Join the upcoming?European Identity and Cloud Conference 2023?on?Credentialing-enabled Zero Trust Architecture for API Endpoint-Security?on?May 11, 2023, from?16:10-16:30.?Our CEO,?Dr. Carsten St?cker, will demonstrate how Trust Frameworks and Identity Governance are the foundational layers for a credentialing infrastructure. Find in-depth explanations on how ecosystem solutions such as the?Open Credentialing Initiative?and?Gaia-X?are applying design patterns using decentralized identity and verifiable credentials.
