The #1 Thing to Do If You See Your Connect Rate Dropping

"My industry doesn't pick up the phone much" is an easy excuse for why your connect rate is low.

There are things in your power to do in order to increase your connect rate and double your email reply rate.?

If your connect rate is low, check and see if your number is flagged as spam (this is very common). If it is, no one is going to pick up the phone.

  • Arm yourself with several numbers and rotate those numbers.
  • Then, register each of your numbers in the National Call Registry here and here. This way, when you call, it says “Alex Murphy” on their phone and not “Spam”.

3 bonus tactics to increase your connect rate:?

  1. Leave a voicemail after the first 2 calls. Leave a 15-30 second voicemail after each of the first 2 dials, and mention to look for your email so that you don't play phone tag.
  2. Email after every single call. Follow up with an email that has context + the problem you solve + ask for a meeting. You’ll see your email reply rate do a big jump up.
  3. 3 calls is the magic number. Connect rates typically decrease a ton after the 3rd call. The ideal sequence is to call 3 times, leave a voicemail after the first 2 calls, and email after all 3.?
