Recap 2024, Welcome 2025 as an Estate Agent

So here we are in January 2025, and I’m finally penning down my recap of 2024! December proved to be a busy month, but when the 22nd arrived, I took a well-deserved rest, spending time unwinding with family, friends, and my dog Cindy.

As I reflect on 2024, I am immensely proud of what we’ve achieved at DNG Galvin. This year has been one of growth, connection, and service, and I’ve had the privilege of supporting countless buyers and sellers as they navigated significant life decisions—whether they were downsizing, upgrading, purchasing their first home, or seeking investment opportunities. My commitment to delivering exceptional service, expert advice, and local knowledge has never been stronger, and this year has truly showcased the strength of our expertise and our connection to the wonderful communities we serve.

Sharing Knowledge and Expertise

Educating buyers and sellers has always been at the core of what I do. This year, we took significant steps to share our knowledge. In March, we hosted our first in-person Property Clinic at our office. It was a fantastic opportunity to invite industry professionals—from Daft, solicitors, and mortgage brokers—to provide free, practical advice to anyone navigating the property market. The response was overwhelming, and I’m excited to announce that we’ll be continuing this initiative in 2025.

Building on that success, we expanded our efforts by hosting monthly online Property Clinics, where we covered topics such as home staging, decluttering, maximising BER ratings, and vacant property grants. The feedback has been incredible, and I’m thrilled to know that these sessions have been so helpful to so many people.

Contributing to the Media Landscape

This year, I also had the honour of contributing to various property articles in some of Ireland’s top publications, including The Examiner, The Times, The Business Post, The Southern Star, The Independent, and The Echo. My goal with these contributions is simple: to demystify the often-complex process of buying or selling a home. As I often say, “My aim is to educate people about the process—it’s complex, but I’m here to guide you every step of the way.”

Additionally, I appeared on Virgin Media News to discuss the Bandon property market and was interviewed on C103 Radio to share my insights. One of the highlights of the year was recording a podcast with iProperty Radio right from our office. These experiences have allowed me to extend my reach and provide valuable insights to a wider audience.

Engaging with the Community

In 2024, I was invited to speak at a Home Buyers Event hosted by Aishling Browne at the Cork Bar. It was an absolute pleasure to connect with homebuyers and share my expertise. Events like these are a reminder of how rewarding it is to give back to the community, and I look forward to participating in more in the coming years.

A Year of Successful Sales and Valuations

One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is helping clients successfully sell their properties. This year, we achieved fantastic results throughout Cork and West Cork, including in Bandon, Clonakilty, Kinsale, and beyond. The demand for properties continues to outpace supply, making this an ideal time to sell. If you’re considering it, I’d love to help you navigate the process.

As a registered valuer, I also had the opportunity to assist clients with valuations for various purposes, including Fair Deal, probate, mortgages, transfers, and family law. Each valuation is handled with the utmost care and confidentiality, ensuring clients feel supported throughout the process.

Supporting Landlords

Our landlord services have also been a significant focus this year. Caroline, our Lettings Manager, has done an outstanding job ensuring that properties are expertly managed and that landlords remain compliant with evolving regulations. It’s been incredible to see how much peace of mind this service has brought to so many landlords.

Expanding Our Global Reach

Our affiliation with Hamptons International has been a game-changer for our clients. It allows us to connect sellers with a global database of ready-to-go buyers, particularly for prime properties like country homes and coastal estates. This partnership has been instrumental in achieving fantastic results for our clients.

Celebrating Success

This year, we were humbled to receive three prestigious awards, including the DNG Marketing Award, which recognises our dedication to innovative digital and traditional marketing strategies. Personally, I was honoured to receive the Outstanding Leader Award at the National Property Awards and the Network Ireland West Cork Businesswoman Award. Representing our region at the national awards in Kilkenny was an unforgettable experience.

Building Relationships That Last

Relationships are at the heart of my work. Through memberships in organisations like SCSI, IPAV, Network Ireland, AIBA, and Toastmasters, I’ve been able to grow both personally and professionally. Many of my clients have become friends over the years, and that’s something I truly cherish. Selling a property isn’t just a transaction—it’s the start of a lasting connection.
