Recall of protein drinks, milks and smoothies

Recall of protein drinks, milks and smoothies

In Canada we had a milkman. Every morning you'd open the door and there were glass bottles of milk, eggs, butter and cream cheese. Enough for a family of seven. There were no fancy "healthier" or "organic" brands in those days - we all drank the same milk. Apart from drinking glasses of milk and hot chocolate, the milk went in our cereal and porridge every single morning for breakfast.

Life in our modern society has gotten complicated and now we're going through an adjustment. I'm not surprised to see the recall of dairy products expanding, but I'm stunned to see the accelerated pace. Hundreds of products on the contaminated list. It kind of makes you wonder if we can make do without a lot of them.

Abbott brands, Organic Valley among drinks added to recall for possible contamination Miami Herald (August 15, 2022)

Nutrition Drinks Including Varieties of Oatly and Glucerna Are Recalled NY Times

"Last month’s recall of protein drinks and other nutritional supplement drinks on microbial contamination concerns now includes 10 other brands of protein drinks, milks and smoothies, some of which are designed for children. Also, more products or lot numbers and expiration dates have been added to some of the brands in the original recall, such as Premier Protein, MRE and Oatly. Two of the brands in the expansion (Ensure Harvest, PediaSure Harvest) and one brand in the original recall (Glucerna Original) come from Abbott Nutrition, the same Abbott Nutrition of the national baby formula formula crisis after an infant and tested positive for Cronobacter sakazakii." My Commentary --

#1 - As I've explained many times we're in a transition phase. From now on companies need to make products that are good for everyone. How to calculate that? It's very simple. If the product you're selling is only affordable for 5% of the population, then your company's value will be 5%. So I think all these brands that keep developing new products have some thinking to do.

#2 - A lot of these brands have very impressive corporate images and fancy Corporate Social Responsibility reports. We get it - they are super conscious brands that are doing things in a way that's good for the planet, blah blah blah. But let's take a super successful brand like Organic Valley that is "the nation’s largest farmer-owned organic cooperative." It sounds like they're one big happy family, right? Even without knowing any specifics I can assure you that there are forces in the coop operating against each other 24/7. And that division in opinions invites hate, which goes against development. So as cozy as it looks that all these farmers hitched themselves to the same wagon, I can assure you that this "agricultural cooperative" is not built correctly. Why? Because basing a relationship mainly on economic aspects is not enough. There has to be clean air in the atmosphere, and things need to be convenient for everyone for any group to flourish.

Sorry for saying, but seriously, good riddance actually, I mean, think about it, baby formula once upon a time didn't even exist, it is just another big boom to make tons more on women who were pressured from all of this false value system that you have to have an all out career to be valued in a global society based upon self-interest, and yah well in today's world, how can a family survive on one salary, especially when you are constantly bombarded with endless brainwashing messages information of consumersim, you gotta have this and that, bigger better shinier etc We are so out of synch with nature we develop all of these "fillers", a mom's milk is the most healthy thing you can give to a baby, its full of natural antibodies for immunization of the new born, and now we are pumping them up with artificial milk powder. Im not judging anyone, dont get me wrong, it goes much deeper than that, this is just a tiny tip of an iceberg...
