Rebuilding Trust

In 5 days, we will witness the beginning of a global reflection on "Rebuilding Trust," so I begin thinking about its etymologies.

Rebuilding:

Etymology: The word "rebuilding" has its origin in Latin. The prefix "re-" means "again" or "anew," and "building" originates from the Latin verb "construere," meaning "to build." Therefore, "rebuild" refers to the act of constructing something again, especially after destruction or alteration.

Essence: The essence of "rebuild" is intrinsically linked to the idea of restoration, renewal, or building again. It is a term often associated with overcoming challenges, recovering losses, or constructing something that has been damaged or destroyed.

Trust:

Etymology: The word "trust" also has its roots in Latin. It derives from the term "confidentia," meaning "trust" or "firmness." The suffix "-ance" is used to indicate quality or state.

Essence: The essence of "trust" involves the idea of having faith, security, or belief in the integrity, ability, or reliability of something or someone. It is a vital element in human relationships, business, and various social interactions, representing a positive expectation regarding the future behavior or performance of something or someone.

In summary, "rebuild" refers to the act of constructing something again, especially after destruction or alteration, and "trust" involves having faith, security, or belief in integrity, ability, or reliability.

Looking at the reconstruction of a building materializes as rework, that is, an investment of time to undo something not executed properly, so that it is prepared again for a new stage of construction, where there is a new investment of time and resources with the hope that everything will go well. Considering the analogy of a construction, understanding a single-family dwelling, where people depend on the effectiveness in excellence of what was agreed upon for a family to enjoy the construction, but if there is no correct execution, setbacks are expected, compromising the common use of the dwelling, thus, there is a breach of trust because words and actions were not committed, causing pain, regardless of scale. And here, there is an option on the part of the construction manager, to acknowledge their failure, their mistake, implementing a simple SWOT matrix and a PDCA methodology, committing to repairing the damage, but their biggest challenge is to gain trust, and for that, their reconstruction will be physical and moral.

Similarly, when we look at nature, we admire fruit-bearing trees in which we expect them to produce their essence, healthy fruits that will fulfill their purpose: Food and Medicine (whether from their leaves or fruits). However, within their harvest period, if these trees do not bear fruit, it will require attention and a state of alertness. But if, for several other seasons, they remain without their nature to multiply, how will they fare with those who planted them?

Thus, one of the greatest opportunities that will exist in Davos is the recognition of flaws, weaknesses, presenting in detail the Why?, How?, and What? of projects, commitments, actions not built, poorly constructed that need to be properly restored.

And I recall the phrase attributed to Albert Einstein: "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

Therefore, I hope to see Sanity in all the issues attributed to discussed and unresolved matters, knowing that our decisions impact a scale of timelessness for some generations who will experience words, promises, but long for an ecosystem of life, joy, results materializing its essence in total fullness: Sow, Grow, Bear Fruit, Multiply, Share, and Sow Again!

May we Live New Beginnings with the certainty that it will not be necessary to Rebuild Trust because it will no longer be broken.

A reconstruction is only necessary when there has been a deconstruction, if this deconstruction has not yet happened, at some point it needs to exist, it is up to us to have the sensitivity and nobility to do it before others do it for us. When this analysis is carried out by the institution or individual itself, the inconvenience of change is minimized; when carried out by external agents, they bring pain and difficulties in regenerating trust during the reconstructive process. Excellent reflection my friend, God bless your life.
