Gaining self-confidence is a slow development. No one can develop it in a few days. It requires consistent efforts. So, to start with, write down the answers to the following –
- Your meaning of self-confidence
- List down your strengths & weaknesses
- Write down scenarios which pull down your self-confidence. Write everything. (Example: it may be communicating with a stranger, approaching women or men, embracing failure & rejections, etc.)
Once answered, you will know what skills are you lacking and which need improvement. Start working on those until it begins to seem familiar & comfortable. Do not rush into improving all your weak skills at once. It will lead you to nothing.
There are a lot of times in our lives where we are extremely confident, outgoing and very social. But then comes a time, where all of a sudden, we lose all our confidence and just feel absolutely lost with no idea as to what led us to this particular moment. Nevertheless, confidence is essential for survival.
Here are a few ways to rebuild your confidence –
- Acknowledge the factor that destroyed your confidence
- Always write down your goals
- Remember who you were
- Turn to your mentors
- Take yourself away from the toxic situation
- Accept that it will take time
