The Rebranding: From Google Ads Extensions To Creative Assets
Just recently, Google ad extensions are being rebranded as assets. The new name is intended to reflect the fact that these features are now more important than ever in driving creative performance. It will help advertisers create more engaging and compelling ad campaigns and boost click-through rates, conversion rates, and quality scores.
Now, what’s exciting about this change? If you are an advertiser, you should start thinking about your extensions as assets that can be used to improve your ad creative. If you’re not using extensions, now is the time to start because of the new streamlined ad creation procedure and reporting in assets!
What Are Google Ads Creative Assets?
Google Ads Extensions, now known as “assets,” are features that you can add to your ad to give your customers more information about your business. They can include things like your business address, phone number, headline, and descriptions, or even site links to your website. Assets are a great way to give your customers more details about your brand and help you stand out from the competition.
What’s New?
First, Google streamlined the ad creation process. Before, assets were created and managed separately from the campaign creation process. But now, you can devise them under the same creation steps when setting up a Search or Performance Max campaign.
When you create assets and implement them in your campaign, the Google Ads Preview Tool will allow you to see how they'll look in context. They also recommend assets based on your selected campaign goals. So even before it is launched, you already have an idea of how it will appear.
Also, with the new “Assets” page under the “Ads & assets” menu, all reporting for all the assets across your account will be readily available. In the “Asset” table view, you can see the headlines and descriptions. While assets such as images and prices are shown on the “Association” table view. With these changes, you can review them as a whole easily.
