Rebecca Pietri

My name is Rebecca Pietri; I am a BiPoc storyteller and visual strategist crafting identities and brands. This is an episode of a series I made called "Making In America."

I have been at the forefront as a creative in cross-platform multimedia projects in the cultural zeitgeist for over 20 years. I work at the intersection of fashion and art in the entertainment industry. ?My clients include A-list celebrities, corporate giants, leading editorial voices, studios, museums, and corporate executives.

I draw on my practice's African American tradition of sampling and recontextualization. I call this ‘Vernacular Styling,’ which draws from physical and intellectual archives to create amalgamations that inform the present and act as catalysts to envision the future.

I’m passionate about creating meaningful identities by mining archives to draw on deep historical meanings for people, places, materials, and makers.

Above all, I’d like to nurture a sense of community. ??
