Reasons Why People Switch To iPhone From Android

Are you planning to buy your next smartphone? If Yes, then you must be looking towards the trending mobile operating systems, right? If, you have already used Android in a meanwhile, then you must be planning to please yourself with the newly launched version of iOS. Then let me help you in adding some more fuel to flames that will make your decision a little more stronger.

According to the statistics, the percentage of people migrating from Android to iPhone is increasing each passing day. Is it because the marketing strategy followed by Apple or Apple’s brand image? However, there are many other logical reasons behind the migration from Android or iPhone.

We all know that iOS and Android, both are mature operating systems with end user base. While moving from one high-end Android smartphone to a high-end iPhone, people will be focusing more on software differences. Both the operating systems are more similar than different from each other, but still carries a huge list of differences.

Let’s have a brief look towards the main reasons to know more about why people are switching from Android to iPhone.

  • Applications:

We all know about the impact of applications on our lives. Android Google Play and iOS App store are loaded with hundreds of apps. Most popular apps or games like Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Pinterest, Candy Crush are easily available on both platforms, but many of them come first on iOS. Before launching an app, the developers or app owners chooses iPhone over Android. Even after launching, Android users have to wait for months for the app to make its way towards them.

The Android Google Play and iOS App store are fully-fledged with a variety of app but still there are more iPhone-only apps than Android-only apps. So, to get early access to new apps, I would recommend iPhone over Android.

  • Security:

Being an open-source platform, Android is way more friendly even to a layman user. Android has no match when talking about user-friendly mobile operating system, but when it comes to security, Android is likely to be less secure compared to iOS. Android bugs help hackers to get an easy access. They can easily get entire control on Android devices. Apple never compromises in terms of user's security. Either it's your contacts, images or secured passwords with the browser, Apple makes sure that user will get complete security while using iPhone.

  • User Interface:

Screen size plays a vital role in providing amazing and user-friendly interface to the mobile users. With the newly launched iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, the successors of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, have given a new direction to the user interface. Carrying a screen size of 4.7” and 5.5” respectively, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus have come up with more manageable options on the screen.

The bigger the screen size, the easier the reachability and usability. Apple has worked a lot to offer larger screen size along with great user interface. Apple has brought down the entire UI to provide better user interaction with the elements at the top of the screen.

The control offered by iPhone is excellent over the features, look and feel while handling it. The 3D Touch offered by Apple enables you to handle things precisely. Apple has also enabled some of the fancy 3D gestures that help user to handle their iPhones in a better manner. Adjust your home-screen menu as per your priorities to get an easy access.

  • Privacy:

Privacy comes on top for Apple. Apple respects user’ privacy and created a website specifically for its users to make them understand how to protect their private information.

  • Timely Phone Updates:

iPhone users appreciate enjoying the quick and regular updates offered for iPhone. No matter what carrier they use, the moment Apple release any update, it is made available to every user across the globe. Apple does not allow any carrier to hold or manage iPhone updates. It looks promising how Apple is managing its entire user-base by accomplishing their basic needs.

Whereas Android lacks in providing timely software updates or OS updates. For Android users, they have to wait for months to get an update on their smartphone. And, if the Android updates are made available, they are limited to only a few or newly launched Android devices. As we all know that Android Nougat is about to release in few coming weeks and to the utter surprise there are Android smartphones available in the market running on Android Kitkat with no upgrade till date.

  • Ease of Use Over Android:

There are people out there who find iPhone an easy pick up as compared to any Android smartphone. iPhone comes with amazing touch and delivers more ease of use when compared to any other device available in the market. When Google tries to make it simpler for Android, it either brings it down to its slowest speed or user might end up having some other issues. Being an open source platform, Android has also offered hassle-free handling but it lacks in speed.

While Apple being not so open-source platform, it is still opening up certain aspects of the iOS. The difference between both is that Apple is doing it securely. For eg iOS 8 will now be coming up with widgets options just like Android widgets, but the noticeable thing is that iPhone widgets can be accessible from anywhere, not just the home screen. The extensions bring apps closer and make it easy to share data within the apps.

  • Storage:

Storage is one of the most important features offered by Apple. And, this is equally one of the main reasons behind the migration of Android users to iPhone. While talking about high-end Android smartphones, users are generally not allowed to move or save apps in the phone's external storage, which eventually make them feel lack of storage space. On the other hand, iPhone does not discriminate between the internal and external storage space.

  • Get Rid of Carrier Bundled Apps:

Unlike Android smartphones, iPhones doesn't come loaded with unnecessary carrier apps. When you purchase an Android smartphone, these carrier branded apps come pre-installed and many of these extra apps come without an option of uninstall; you can only disable them. Either you use it or not, you will find multiple carrier branded apps because the owner has paid the carrier to install their application for promotional purpose.

When it comes to iPhone, Apple is not perfect in pre-installing apps and this imperfection could be served as a huge advantage for the people migrating towards iPhone. And, with the latest updates, you can remove or hide Apple apps which are not in use.

  • Sharing and Connectivity:

If you are working on multiple Apple devices such as iPhone, iPad and Mac, you can easily share the required information from one device to another. Answer a phone call, sync your photos, access multiple mail accounts, send text messages from any of your Apple devices. Apple offers amazing connectivity options within these devices. Sharing from one iPhone to another is also made easier by Apple.

For Android, it is not possible to offer this standard of connectivity without relying  on third-party apps. Samsung for once has offered easy sharing with Android Marshmallow but to make it work, the other Android smartphone needs to be updates with similar features.

iOS App store has offered several in-house build apps such as Airdrop, Family Sharing that help in sharing movies, music, books, apps, docs, etc within family and friends.
