"Reasons for Fewer Female Leaders on Leadership Positions"


The most common phrase uses in this world about women is “Ladies First”. Then what are the reasons for fewer female leaders in leadership positions? The world is not only for the man it’s also for women. The word leader is not related to just Men anymore. Now the trend has changed that women can’t work. But on the top Executive posts, women are fewer than Men. We cannot deny this bitter fact.

Still, there is a lot of hurdles in the path of women. There is the only problem of the pathway between Women and Leadership. Women are more hardworking, intelligent, and educated than men. So, where is the problem?

According to the Rockefeller Foundation study, just 4% of women are in top positions in 500 Companies. Women don’t want to face hurdles to enter the workplace. But they have the ability to overcome these hurdles. When women are moving to the top positions then they face isolation and resistance. So women want to avoid difficult situations. Because in every corner of World women consider as Second Class. Mostly people comments about Female employees such as more Aggressive and Lack of Dignity. So we can say it Discrimination. 

The Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern study said that half of the women who are in MBA will leave in the future just because of Frustration. So relax of mind is very important in the workplace. Most countries society did not accept women as a leader. They don’t want women to lead Men. Those women who succeed in the workplace can manage their work-life balance. Most women cannot manage their family and their job. So that’s also a reason to quit a job. There are many challenges for women who have a passion for their work. To gain respect and acceptance from their colleagues is very difficult in the workplace.

There is a huge difference between Masculinity and Femininity. I heard many times that “Women are not Good Drivers”. They cannot drive well so how can she lead all of us. These all are just useless sentences. Women can lead the workforce. So we should encourage female employees. The diversity of gender is most important in leadership.

   NIKE Company’s Human Resource Chief said that NIKE needs to promote more women and other minorities because of the unacceptable behavior of employees. So this is a positive step to encourage the female workforce. All organizations should create a strong culture against discrimination.

  In a recent study conducted by Chief Executive Women from ASX200 Company Websites. The results of this study were based on the fact that 79% of Men roles in Executives leadership Teams but have no women role in Executives Leadership Teams. Just 11 women are listed as CEOs in ASX200. So I think women are less risky and more barriers they face.

The more important reason is the lack of a Female Role Model. Male role models are increasing in number than a female that’s why leader word is just limited to the males. The lack of interaction creates the gender gap.

  I think Mentoring is an important part of Success. The study of the Business Graduate School of Stanford shows that 80% of CEOs have their mentor. Due to mentors, CEOs stayed in business for over 5 years. Because the mentor provides you the best knowledge that will not provide by books.

  If men will successful in leadership then they will provide guidance to others but in the case of women, they don’t know what to do. Mentoring is a good initiative to motivate the female workforce. The workforce of men should support and should respect the female workforce.

    Due to this many positive points can attach with the female leaders. We should also create awareness about sexual harassment and should blow a whistle. It is responsible for every organization.

Most organization avoids to hire or selecting female employees because of many problems. They think that women are less confident. So organizations should give opportunities to female employees equally.
