Reason for your Next Change of Job : Super Hot Boss!

So one fine day, I was generally browsing around the internet and I fumbled upon a great review about Team Pumpkin, and it went as below:

I just could not believe the words that my eyes read on a professional forum - Glassdoor and for once I even thought, is it no responsibility of Glassdoor to prevent such sexist reviews from coming into a public domain. But that's maybe a little too much to expect. For now, I did have to write a befitting reply to the 'Anonymous' person, who cared to post such great reviews about me and my wonderful organization! So, here it is:

Dear Anonymous,

First of all, Thank you for posting it anonymously because when we at Team Pumpkin say, "Once a Pumpkin, Always a Pumpkin", we truly want to treat all ex Pumpkins with equal respect and fond memories. If you had mentioned your name here, we would have had one Pumpkin in our history, whom we would not have remembered just as fondly as all others.

I totally understand the efforts you have taken to educate your fellow brethren about why they should join Team Pumpkin and that you are genuinely a helpful soul. But, do you even realize how your review is atrocious and in bad taste at so many levels.

Let's come to the caption a little later. You say our HR is super friendly, but you have put an extremely important rider - only if you behave well. I can only imagine the gruelling situations you have gone through because our HR was not super friendly, because you may not have behaved well at certain times. Pch, let me see and work out how we can be even friendlier to people who do not even behave well.

Coming to the next point. Unfortunately dear Anonymous, we ended up hiring some people who could not match up to your intellectual standards and they miscalculated 2*1 also. However, let me quote some examples. We at one point in time, hired an employee who did not even know how to open MS Word and MS Powerpoint. She, today, is our PR star and we take pride in working so hard on her and making her reach this level in her career. We had an initial designer in our team who was not even sure of her own Photoshop skills when she joined us. Today, she consults some leading brands in India for their design work. These are only two, but there are numerous examples that I can count to you, when we hired people who may skilfully not be as sound when they joined us, but we together made a great team and helped our mutual growth. I apologize for the inconvenience caused to you because of hiring less intellectual employees according to your standards, but that is something that we will continue because we believe in hiring genuine people. People who make us Grow. People who made us reach where we are today. People who will take us to the next level.

I duly thank you for mentioning point 4 and 5. I believe you have been a little generous in mentioning us as a fast paced startup who paid salary on time. Thank You for that!

I am also taking all your cons in the stride and I will surely try and work towards not being biased (though that sometimes is a result of top level view) and also giving some great perks to employees. Late working hours is something that is a part of our industry, but still, I've noted down these points and we will work towards improving them for sure.

Now coming to the caption. Dear Anonymous, you have no idea how by that one caption, you have hung my head in shame and you made me regret my hiring skills. So we had this one employee, who instead of choosing to mention the fact that I have given my sweat, blood, heart and soul into building the company what it is, instead of choosing to mention how each and every day I work towards making this place a happier place despite innumerable client pressure situations, instead of choosing to mention how I always am on the team's side whenever a discerning situation comes - chooses to mention my hotness quotient!

I hope you know and remember, that in one of the qualifier rounds, we have this specific question on your point of views about women of today. That question is not for judging your writing capabilities. That question is to understand your sensitivity towards the women of our society. This itself is an indication enough how important it is to respect and not judge women in Team Pumpkin. And you ended up objectifying me? Right on my face? You really think people will join or not join an organization because the Boss will be hot?

Mr. Anonymous, let me tell you, that it's because of people like you and your mentalities, that women in our society never get their due credit. With that one sentence, you sweeped all the achievements I ever had in my career under the carpet and invited your fellow brethren with similar mentatlities to come and party over it! It's people like you who think women get promotions because of their looks and dressing and that women succeed above you because of certain"favours" done. It is people like you because of whom women choose to deprioritize their careers because they think they will never be recognized anyways!

Last week, I was bestowed with the prestigious "Women Super Achiever Award" by Femina and on behalf of all the women who have been judged through their careers and successes, I dedicate this award to you! This award has been won and will continue to be won, despite you and your views! Lastly, I wish you a great career ahead and I really hope you learn to judge other people (and not only women) by their hard work and intent and not by their looks and hotness quotient!
