The reason why I am so passionate about the WRWC
Thirteen short months ago, I started a new adventure with the WRWC as their new Director of Development. I was excited but hesitant of what laid ahead for me. Well, here we are almost 14 months into the job and I am super HAPPY & STOKED.
The WRWC works to encourage, support and promote the restoration and preservation of the Woonasquatucket River Watershed as an environmental, recreational, cultural, and economic asset of the State of Rhode Island. Well every day, I learn and see something new about what we as the stewards of the Woonasquatucket are doing.
We just like every other non-profit out there, we rely on donations and fundraisers. For the last 6 Septembers, we hold our largest fundraiser of the year. This year is no different. The event is our Annual Woony River Ride (https://wrwc.org/woonyride.php) that will take place on September 17th in Providence.
The staff always does their part by doing their own fundraising efforts as a team. However, internally we add an extra level of competition, whomever raises the most money gets bragging rights for the next year.
This year, I have set my goal at $500. There are still 27 days to donate to help me be the one who comes out on top and adds to the funding for all of the things the WRWC does on a daily basis.
In 27 days I still have to raise $425. Who out there, is going to help me do this small gesture?
