The reason I became a marketer

The reason I became a marketer

I always loved architecture, but I was bad at physics and math

(not a good combination if you want someone to trust their building to you).

Welcome to a new week, dear reader. I want to share the story behind my decision to become a marketer—a journey that led me to discover my true passion and purpose.

While I always had a deep admiration for architecture, my journey toward becoming an architect hit a roadblock. The demanding requirements of physics and math proved to be a challenge for me at the time. Yet, I refused to let this setback dampen my spirit. Instead, I turned to my strengths and interests to uncover a new direction.

During my school days, I discovered a passion for creativity—a desire to express my thoughts through music and the arts. While pursuing a career as a painter or musician seemed tempting, I longed for an opportunity to make a broader impact.

A way to serve ideas that could inspire change and drive value.

A significant turning point came when I helped a family friend in a summer placement who worked as a consultant. Harris, was a speaker and a management consultant at the time, helping teams increase their productivity by building internal communication programs. Witnessing his ability to transfer ideas through emotion and drive transformative shifts in people's mindsets left a profound impact on me. It was then that I realized there is something there for me.

I didn't know what to call it, I wasn't sure if there was a name around it. I was looking for a profession that would allow me to make a larger impact and serve ideas that deeply resonated with others.

With a newfound sense of purpose, I embarked on a journey of exploration. I sought to find in history how stories become contagious and drive significant change. Whether this was a small group of people, a specific audience, or even a country.

Every step of the way, I grew more confident in my decision, knowing that I had found a path aligned with my strengths and aspirations. Connecting people with concepts that drive action.

Today, as I share this story with you, my idea of marketing is completely different from what I thought it was back then. But the main concept remains the same.

Build something for a group of people that adds value and drives action.

Though I did not become an architect, I found a way to build my own plans and structures. My own hives, ready to welcome their inhabitants.

As you begin this new week, I encourage you to reflect on your own journey. Consider your passions, talents, and aspirations. Have the courage to pursue a path that aligns with your true self, even if it diverges from the expected.

Remember, true success lies not just in reaching a predefined destination but in living authentically and making a meaningful difference.

Wishing you a week brimming with inspiration and remarkable achievements on your journey!
