Reason #8 – Sachi A. Hamai, Chief Executive Officer for the County of Los Angeles.

She manages Los Angeles County’s $30-billion-plus budget, leads powerful initiatives for transformative change and runs marathons for fun. Meet Sachi A. Hamai, Los Angeles County’s Chief Executive Officer! Serving as our fearless leader since her unanimous selection by the Board of Supervisors in 2015, she is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the nation’s largest municipal government. A true public service trailblazer, Sachi Hamai was recently was honored with the 2018 Clarence A. Dykstra Award for Excellence in Government. The phrase “excellence in government” definitely sums up her approach to leading the County as it addresses some of our region’s most difficult social challenges, including homelessness, child safety and health care.
