Really?
Author's update: Okay, so this article was relevant two months ago and should be over by now. So why is the media apparently still trying to skew the news to continue their witch hunt against President Trump, divide the country and create discord at every opportunity? He turned from businessman to politician... not a move I would consider in his best interest yet the news continues to make it appear otherwise. I think it is time for me to stop watching the news. It appears clearly biased and fraught with promoting division, discord and deception more than what people think they are getting when they watch. This is my first re-post but I see this article is still relevant:
I am not a political person but I am a patriotic person. I do not care for the party process but I’m glad there is a means of likeminded people to gather and express their opinions. I don’t believe the president of the United States has power to do all that people and the media accuse him of doing or give him credit for doing. I have lived among other nations and don’t believe the American people are as free as they think they are… but I love this country and what it stands for. We have a lot of evil people but they are kept in check by the many good people inhabiting this land as well.
If I have an opinion I hope people will not consider this political because my intention is not to sway, convert, deride or punish but simply to ask a question. This is not a question of facts and figures or truth and false. It is not a multiple choice question. It is a question of hypocrisy, lies and lying to oneself. Before I ask this question I would like you to know I didn’t want either candidate to win and also that I am married to a Liberal.
Here is my question, which happens to be a series of questions: Wasn’t political correctness created by liberals? Wasn’t it the liberals who were touting “Make love not war” during the Vietnam War? Aren’t the liberals complaining about the many countries we are invading to chase terrorist organizations? So why are the liberals rioting, destroying, burning the American flag and causing such commotion because they didn’t get their way? Are they for peace and love or destruction and protest? I mean, really, will the protests actually change the presidency? If they want to protest I see no problem in that because everyone deserves to be heard, but weren’t they heard at the ballot box? So why continue and why destroy property and hurt people?
The liberal media kept trying to pin Trump down and get him to say he will accept the decision of the people as final and yet, they, the liberals, won’t? So what does it mean to be liberal? What do they actually stand for? Do they have any dignity, honor, or even civility if they don’t get their way? I was quite impressed by Hillary’s speech after she lost and now hearing about Obama’s gracious turn over to Trump. That is what I would expect from all the liberal touts and political correctness over the years, not the hypocrisy, whining and complaining we are seeing in our streets. The media kept talking about the uneducated Republican vote while the liberals are supposedly the educated side of America. Is this how the educated are supposed to behave? Liberals were angry and said Trump was a bad example for our children and one even said they are afraid to wake up in the morning and have to tell their children about the example we have for a president. Is this outburst of liberal haters the example we want for our children?
Personally, I am embarrassed for America and all the false faces we’ve seen who acted like they were above such repulsive behavior and accused their opponents of the same, until they didn’t get their way and now we see them acting even worse than what they were accusing their opponents of. Please be assured that I am not a liberal hater and if the shoe were on the other foot, this article would be directed at the conservatives but I would like to ask the liberals to be gracious in defeat and stop shaming America with the juvenile behavior unbecoming of an educated people. Stop making others suffer with all your destruction and interference because you can’t take losing. Stop parading around with signs showing your best creativity is to parade pictures of feces through our streets. Please help us believe the American educational system is capable of turning out a better level of class in defeat so the world will not laugh us to scorn and look for a more tolerant and civil people to supposedly lead the world in this 21st century.
When Al Gore didn’t win he didn’t accept the loss and went all the way to the Supreme Court trying to change the voting system so he could win and now we have Hillary being gracious in defeat but her followers are reliving the tantrums of Al Gore. To quote a liberal, “Can’t we all just get along?” I know I am subjecting myself to the same ill-tempered reactions we’ve seen of late among Liberals but I have to ask: Is your reaction to the Trump win, and to this message, what you want for this country, this world and this society, and do you expect the same treatment the next time you win? Or, will you temper your reaction and show the civility of an educated people bent on peace, love and the American way?
***If you agree with this post, please share it with your network and hopefully it will eventually get to the right people who can help the protesters change their actions.***

8 年I'm not a political person either. my kids tell me I am more liberal than conservative in my beliefs. This is very well written and expresses my sentiment exactly, so maybe it should also be posted on Facebook where it will reach more people. Let us show off our great country.

8 年Really! I want a leader who is in the spirit of our democracy, our people and the morals of what we attempted to portray in our constitution. Not this guy or anybody like him. Not now and not ever.

8 年Hi Tom Provo. I'm wondering who or what your comment is directed toward. The article is about rioting and destroying personal property, not either candidate. It doesn't appear to be in response to anyone's comments below. Would you mind elaborating on why you are making this a dig against Trump instead of commenting on the content of the article?
