Really?
Exhibit Associates is hiring a new Account Manager. It's a sales position. Is the position all "unicorns & rainbows" ? Of course it is! (Anybody who believes that please do not apply.) Click the word Account Manager to learn more about the position.
Actually the reason for this post is Why? Why in this day and age would a sales person not be on LinkedIn? Do they need to be a super-user, interact every day and write articles? No.
But the first check on a sales person resume we do at Exhibit Associates is check their resume against their LinkedIn profile. No LinkedIn profile? Chances are we will not be calling you for an interview. (But if you have no LinkedIn profile - would you be reading this?) It seems simple enough. Maybe we are asking too much.
Who would hire a sales person, I mean Account Manager, who does not know how email works? A cell phone? How to use PowerPoint? It use to be door-to-door sales. How great it was when the phone was introduced to the sales world. Then email! I am sure sales teams thought they could email a lot and sit back and collect money! (SPAM!) Cell Phones came along. Heck - be on the beach and close a deal. Now Social Selling will solve the pipeline issues of all companies! Well - actually from "door-to-door" to "social selling" still requires a product that has a demand and a company that can deliver. But come on. No LinkedIn profile? Really?
