The reality and need of hard work. How do you make that looks so easy? ??

I was flying one day, about six years into being a pilot, and this LtCol in the back comments over the headset, "You guys make this look so effortless! You must be naturally talented to fly like this and keep everything on schedule."

That got me thinking. Pilots have a knack for multitasking quickly, which is handy. Flying involves juggling a lot - handling the controls with both hands and feet, keeping up with multiple radio conversations, and navigating through tough spots while leading a squad of aircraft. The goal? To fly for hours, maybe refuel, and nail the landing within a 30-second window. To outsiders, it looks easy because of the thousands of hours of practice we put in when no one's watching.

This is called The Effort Paradox - It's all about putting in the hard work to make things look smooth. Take it from someone who's been there: elegant performances come from heaps of gritty practice.

Here's the thing about this paradox: if you see someone making something look elegant and effortless, bet your bottom dollar they've been through the wringer with practice. In our world of instant gratification, like Instagram and Facebook, we don't see the 4000 tries and fails; we see the one perfect attempt. It might make you think, "What's wrong with me?" when it's about embracing the grind upfront to enjoy the rewards later.

For my clients, having me as their coach, reminding them of the hard work needed, keeping them focused on their goals, and cheering for every small win helps them achieve big things.

"Everyone needs a coach. Doesn't matter if you're a basketball player, a tennis player, a gymnast, or a bridge player. We all need feedback to improve," says Bill Gates.

If you're aiming to elevate your leadership game, struggling with a goal, or just need someone to champion your cause, hit me up for a free session. Let's team up and get you where you want to be without anyone telling you what to do.
