The Reality of Being a Visionary Part 1
When I hear “Amazing you’re such a Visionary.” I think to myself what a nice compliment but being too early isn’t always easy and for sure explaining why being early isn’t easy, only resonates with entrepreneurs that have been on a similar journey. It is most likely the death to your vision if you aren’t there at the right time in the market and very few survive.??It’s a hustle and a constant pitch at all times. I can truly tell you it brought me a place where you sink, question everything and then have to find your way up alone.
When I left Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne in 2010 with an idea to create “shoppable” hotels, I was told by the dean Prof. Dr Ray F. IUNIUS “You are very early, maybe 10 years too early.” But being early never put me off. I was always early with my concepts. It would become a household name in time, but it would take at least 10 years before it got off the ground. At that time, I had just moved to Rome and was considering launching a boutique hotel as there were hardly any so this set me on a path to keep my mindset open. I am glad I took what she said seriously.
In 2000 I started a business called Shake N’ Reik. I would offer a juice/smoothie and 1 hour of Reiki. At the time no one heard of Reiki and fresh juice or smoothie on demand wasn’t that common. Sadly, I felt that business which should have turned into a spiritual healing version of Joe and the Juice was going to be too hard to educate a market, so I stopped it. Today you can find Reiki offered as a mainstream healing service in many spas.... (continue to Part 2)
