Realistic self -visualization to bring out the best in You

Self-imagery is the mental pictures or visualizations that we create in our mind about ourselves, and it can play a significant role in shaping our behaviour. It involves Identifying the behaviour we want to change. We have to start by identifying the behaviour that we want to change.?We have to be very clear & specific about what you want to achieve, and why it's important to you.

We have to Imagine the ideal version of ourself but in a kind of distant way to impartially make a mental judgement. Closing our eyes, and visualizing yourself behaving in the way that you want to. Imagine the ideal version of yourself, and how you would act if you had already changed your behaviour. Picture yourself in different situations, and visualize yourself responding in a positive way.

Making a realistic visualization of oneself can help to create a clear image of

-?????????What we want to achieve

-?????????Help us to work towards your goals. To make a realistic self-projection and bring out the best in yourself, follow these steps:

To begin with:

-?????????Do that SWOT: Begin by identifying your strengths and weaknesses. Be honest with yourself and ask for feedback from others if needed. This will help you to create a realistic self-projection.

-?????????Set realistic goals: Set goals that are achievable and realistic. This will help you to focus on the steps you need to take to bring out the best in yourself.

-?????????Start making mental notes about your ideal self: Create a mental image of your ideal self. This will help you to stay motivated and focused on your goals. Visualize yourself in different situations, behaving in a way that aligns with your values and goals.

-?????????Practice positive self-talk: Use positive self-talk to reinforce your self-projection. Instead of criticizing yourself, focus on your strengths and what you can do to improve.

-?????????Get into the action mode: Take action towards your goals. Break down your goals into smaller, manageable steps, and take consistent action towards them. Celebrate your successes along the way and learn from any setbacks.

-?????????Surround yourself with positive reads & influences: Read good books & surround yourself with supportive friends and family, mentors, and role models.

-?????????Use what works: Use what works for you to stay motivated and inspired to bring out the best in yourself.

Bringing out the best in yourself is a journey, and it takes time and effort. Be patient with yourself and keep working towards your goals. With persistence and dedication, you can create a realistic self-projection and bring out the best in yourself.

Route to creating a realistic self-visualization:

  • Clarity of intention: We begin by setting a clear intention of what we want to achieve. It could be a specific goal, such as losing weight, or a more general intention, such as improving your overall health or working on your financial health and in particular some investment.
  • Using the senses: As we visualize ourself, engage all of our senses to make the image more vivid, detailed and realistic. Imagine what it feels like to be in your body, what you see around you, what you hear, what you smell and what you feel & perceive.
  • Be realistic: While it's important to have big goals and aspirations, it's also essential to be realistic about what you can achieve. Visualize yourself in a way that is achievable and sustainable over time.
  • Focus the present: As you visualize yourself, focus on the present moment rather than the end result. Visualize yourself taking actions, small meaningful, incremental steps towards your goal, and focus on the journey rather than the destination. Do not delve on past as well and nothing at all on the failures you had
  • Embrace imperfections: ?we have to be realistic & recognize everyone has imperfections and that achieving goals is not a smooth process and may not be for us as well. Embrace your imperfections and visualize yourself persevering through setbacks and challenges and achieving what you want.
  • Use that extra positive push: Use positive frames when you visualize yourself. Instead of focusing on what you don't want, focus on what you really want. For example, instead of the thought “I am careless & shall loose out” think “I have to be more careful and calculative as a person’. Instead of saying “I don't want to be overweight," say "I am becoming healthier and active every day."
  • Review and Revise: Review your visualization regularly and make revisions as needed with keeping the overall picture in mind. As you progress towards your goal, adjust your visualization to reflect your changing reality.

Self-visualization can help you to achieve your goals, but it's not a quick fix solution. It's essential to take action towards your goals and make small, consistent changes over time to achieve lasting results.

Remember that changing behaviour takes time and effort, but creating a positive self-imagery can be a powerful tool in achieving your goals. Be patient with yourself, and keep practicing visualization and positive affirmations to help support your journey towards behavioural change. It is all about Creating a mental script. We have to go about writing down a mental script that reflects the behaviour we want to adopt. Using a positive mindset and focussing on the desired outcome always works.

-?????????Practicing visualisation regularly helps.

-?????????Setting aside time each day to practice Visualising yourself behaving in the desired way.

-?????????Use your mental script to guide your thoughts.

-?????????Use positive affirmations to reinforce your new behaviour.

-?????????Repeat affirmations to yourself throughout the day.

When the desired outcome is there, we have to reward ourself for progress. Celebrate the life in general & specially our progress. Reward yourself when you achieve your goals by giving yourself a pat on the back. This will help to reinforce positive behaviours and give self-motivation to continue making progress.
