Realising the full value of trusted verification

Realising the full value of trusted verification

The first few weeks in a new role is a heady mix of new people, terminology, and new ways of working. Origin Secured has been no different but while there remains a lot for me to learn, I have been struck by the range of challenges organisations face when trying to verify information across their value chain.

We take for granted that ‘someone’ must be checking important information somewhere along the line, whether it be the workforce or supply chain. Unfortunately, the reality is often very different; carrying out proper checks is costly and time-consuming, and most of the time people or suppliers are asked to provide their own ‘proof’ of identity or compliance, without endorsement by a trusted third party.

The UK Government is taking an active role to address these challenges, with a stated aim of “working to help people securely prove who they are without having to present physical documents.” Origin Secured is fully aligned with this principle, and we are working with relevant government agencies to share our thinking, hopefully with an ability to influence the UK’s digital identity strategy.

The core of our approach is to enable people or organisations (entities) to prove key assertions about them that have been endorsed by multiple third parties, without having to share the underlying data. The Origin Secured Event Chain means that participants are notified if an entity’s endorsements or assertions change, delivering real-time assurance and mitigating risk. We believe it is imperative that verification is decentralised, and that people and organisations retain control over who has access to their underlying data.

As CCO tasked with growing Origin Secured’s business, it has been incredible to hear such positive feedback from prospective clients about our solution, and unique approach. Every meeting I attend has a light-bulb moment when the client team understands the full potential of Origin Secured’s solution, and realises the use cases are unlimited.

The challenge for us is to remain grounded and focused on practical use cases that prove the value of our approach, while maintaining a path to realise the full range of benefits: reducing risk and cost, while increasing confidence and productivity. The Origin Secured team is looking forward to sharing our client stories during the first half of 2025, and the potential application of our technology is incredibly exciting.

Don't Assume Trust. Demand An Origin.

Thanks for your thoughts Jamie, it’s clear our commercial vision is perfectly in sync with our digital strategy. I’m excited by how we’re making verification both transparent and secure—without burdening people with endless data requests. It’s a joy to see clients realising the scope of our solution and the real-world impact it can have. From a tech perspective, focusing on decentralised verification and real-time endorsement updates is our path to lasting trust in digital identity. Keeping that trust at the core of everything we do will help us stay practical, deliver real results, and shape the future of verification—one success story at a time.
