As RealFevr continues to expand and shape the ultimate web3 sports gaming ecosystem, it is increasingly important to strengthen our core departments to ensure ongoing success and growth. Today, we introduce you to the new VP of Marketing, who will lead the marketing efforts and drive the company forward.

Rui studied Marketing and Advertising at Lusófona University, where he discovered his passion for marketing. His career began at Proximity BBDO in 2008, where he gained valuable experience in the brand communication and activation field. Later, he furthered his education and pursued a postgraduate course in Marketing Management. Transitioning from the advertising industry, he ventured into the Automotive sector, managing marketing communications in brands such as Jeep, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, and Abarth. For nearly four years, Rui had the opportunity to grow in a very exciting role. However, seeking new challenges, he seized the opportunity to join the Heineken group as a Sponsorship Specialist. This role allowed him to work with amazing brands on many different projects within the group. After two fulfilling years in Sponsorship, he was invited to take on the role of Brand Manager for the Sagres brand, where he pursued giving his contribution to the brand's historical success.

Now, he joins RealFevr to lead the Marketing team, armed with an unwavering commitment to strategy development aligned with the company's vision!

To mark the occasion, we spoke with Rui about his motivation for joining the team, how he sees the future of marketing in the blockchain gaming and crypto market, how to stand out in such fast-paced industries, and much more! The interview went as follows:

What made you accept this new career challenge?

At the beginning of 2023, I was driven by a desire for a fresh and new environment, seeking different challenges that would allow me to keep growing as a marketer. I'm fascinated by the gaming industry, and I′ve been following it since I was a teenager, and for some time even scratching a more competitive landscape. That's how I found myself here at RealFevr, with the ambition to make a significant impact in this dynamic industry.

What is your favorite sport, and what can you learn from it to apply in your day-to-day life at RealFevr??

"Hard work can make you cross the hardest challenges"

Sports have always been a significant part of my life, I was not a professional athlete, but I always played different sports, football being the main one for many years. In 2016 I discovered Boxing, which became a big part of my life. Now I train every week and I'm a student of the art. What Boxing teaches me and for sure I can apply it to my day-to-day life at RealFevr, is that hard work can make you cross the hardest challenges. Mentality can be a superpower, and a sport like boxing teaches you that if you work hard, try to improve just a little every day, and believe in yourself, you can reach your goals and cross all challenges, in work and in life.

If RealFevr were to have licensed moments from your favorite sport, which would become a Unique moment, and why??

I would love to see Boxing licensed moments in RealFevr. The moment that I would love to have as a Unique is the incredible defensive display Canelo Alvarez did in his fight against Daniel Jacobs. I chose that moment because what he did there was one of the hardest things to do in boxing, which is effectively not getting hit, and showing that defense/anticipation can be very effective tools in any battle in our lives.?

What do you think it’s the biggest challenge in introducing and converting web2 users to the web3 space, and how do you think it should be approached??

I believe that the hardest part in adoption, besides the lack of regulation and the fact that Web3 has been challenged with many scams, lies, disinformation, and illegal behavior, leading to miss conceptions, is fully understanding the concepts of blockchain and decentralization. Users still can't fully envision how greatly these technologies can benefit them. At the same time, a new market like this one has many natural barriers because it challenges the economic status quo. Besides regulation, clear information is very important to make web3 a safer place for users and allow the industry to thrive and reach major adoption.

?RealFevr operates in the blockchain gaming ecosystem and the crypto market. Based on your experience, how can Marketing help to make a company stand out in fast-paced industries?

Marketing is absolutely vital in any industry. At this stage of the market, it is essential to provide information to the user, there's a special focus on UX/UI as well to make the user journey as simple as possible. We're still in the early stages of adoption by the user, so it is important to provide them with the information they need to facilitate adoption. All the other strategic logic in marketing in this or other markets apply the same, the brand building, positioning, consistency, segmentation, etc., maybe with the exception of community management, which gains a whole new dimension in web3. Marketing can provide strategic guidance to ensure differentiation, relevance, and authenticity on one end and visibility, awareness, and notoriety on the other.

If you could have a billboard anywhere in the world to promote RealFevr, where would it be, and what would it say?

It wouldn't be a billboard, for sure! It would be a video explaining the RealFevr ecosystem and how we envision the future of gaming. It would anticipate UCL final, be on Super Bowl half-time, and be referenced by every web2 and web3 live gaming streamer, on Youtube and Twitch.
