An Open Letter to President Donald Trump,
To my Best of LinkedIn readers, this is a message that needs to be heard.
Mr. President, let’s be clear: The Bureau of Prisons (BOP) isn’t just broken—it’s an unmitigated national disaster.
It’s a system where drugs flow freely, corruption thrives, and “security” is a punchline.
A PRISON SYSTEM THAT DOESN’T “SECURE” ANYTHING
Picture this: A federal prison, surrounded by double fences, barbed wire, and high-tech surveillance—a fortress of security.
Now picture this: Baseballs stuffed with fentanyl, meth, and heroin lobbed over the fence in broad daylight—completely unchallenged.
And here’s the worst part:
Everyone inside the system KNOWS it's happening, and no one stops it.
The American public has been sold a lie about what happens inside federal prisons.
They think:
? Inmates are locked away with no access to drugs or crime.
? Prison is a place of structure, order, and control.
? The government has a handle on things.
Reality?
? Federal prisons are OPEN-AIR DRUG MARKETS. ? The Bureau of Prisons (BOP) is one of the most corrupt, wasteful agencies in the U.S. ? Instead of stopping crime, the system is MANAGING it—for profit.
Drug Smuggling and Overdose Deaths in Federal Prisons: A System in Crisis
The Department of Justice (DOJ) and Bureau of Prisons (BOP) have documented a dramatic surge in drug smuggling within federal correctional facilities, with synthetic opioids like fentanyl becoming a dominant contraband substance.
The smuggling tactics are more brazen than ever.
This isn’t just a security failure—it’s a catastrophic leadership failure. The Bureau of Prisons has proven incapable of stopping the continuous flood of illicit drugs entering federal facilities. Inmates are overdosing at record levels, and corrupt staff members are often complicit in these smuggling operations.
A 2024 Department of Justice Office of the Inspector General report found that contraband drugs or weapons contributed to nearly one-third of inmate deaths reviewed, including 70 from drug overdoses.
If these trends continue, the federal prison system will cease to be a place of justice and rehabilitation. It will remain what it has already become—a haven for crime, drug trafficking, and death.
The Disruptor-in-Chief and Alice Marie Johnson
Let’s talk about Alice Marie Johnson. She was serving a life sentence for a non-violent drug offense, a victim of a system that had lost its way.
But then came President Donald Trump, the ultimate disruptor.
He saw the injustice, he acted, and he granted her clemency.
He didn’t just free Alice; he empowered her. As Clemency Czar, she’s proving what happens when we put real reformers in charge instead of career bureaucrats. That’s the kind of leadership we need.
Trump didn’t just talk about reform; he acted. He disrupted the status quo. And that’s exactly what I’m offering to do for the prison system.
Mr. President, you hired Alice Marie Johnson as Clemency Czar because she understands reform from the inside.
That’s disruption at its finest.
You didn’t just free Alice; you gave her a platform to free others. You showed the world that the system can be changed, that justice can be restorative, not just punitive.
Now, it’s time for another disruptor.
I lived this system. I saw the failures firsthand.
Appoint me as PRISON CZAR, and I will tear out the rot at its core.
You’ve built your legacy on disruption, on tearing down the status quo and rebuilding it better.
And you need someone like me to do it.
The $3 Billion Lie: A Case Study in Ego vs. "We"
Now, let’s talk about the $3 billion lie.
The former director of the BOP recently claimed they need $3 billion for repairs. I laughed out loud when I heard that.
Why?
Because my family is in the construction business. We know how government contracts work. That $3 billion figure? It’s a scam.
Donald, Mr. President you’ve built skyscrapers. You know this racket better than anyone. You know how this game is played. Government contracts are bloated with waste, inefficiency, and outright corruption.
That $3 billion figure?
In the real world, it’s probably closer to $1.2 billion—maybe even less.
But here’s the kicker: even if they got the $3 billion, do you think it would actually fix the problem?
Of course not.
It would disappear into a black hole of bureaucracy, leaving the prisons just as broken as they are now. This is what happens when ego takes over. When it’s about?"me"?instead of?"we."
When the people in charge care more about protecting their fiefdoms than fixing the problem.
But here’s the good news: I know how to fix it. I know how to get the job done without wasting taxpayer dollars. I know how to disrupt the system in a way that saves money and actually works.
And I know how to do it with?"we."
A Failure of "We"—And Why That Mentality Is Destroying the System
Here’s the real issue: ego.
I have tried—repeatedly—to help. To offer real solutions. To fix the mess.
But guess what?
I was told, point blank, “There is no ‘we.’”
Read that again.
Not “We’ll work together.” Not “Let’s collaborate.” Not even fake interest.
Just flat-out rejection.
Why?
Because they don’t want solutions. They don’t want someone coming in and actually fixing things.
They want to protect their little kingdoms.
Let me paint you a picture: Imagine a house is on fire. The flames are spreading, and people inside are screaming for help. I show up with a fire hose, ready to put it out. But instead of handing me the nozzle, the guy in charge says: “No thanks. We’ve got it under control.”
Except they don’t.
The fire keeps burning. The house keeps crumbling.
And the people in charge?
They don’t care—as long as they stay in charge of the ashes.
That’s exactly what’s happening with our prison system.
Instead of working together to solve real problems, the people in charge are obsessed with maintaining control.
It’s a national disgrace.
Let’s be clear:
They don’t want a “we” solution—because “we” means accountability.
“We” means real change.
And real change threatens their status-quo.
So they reject outside help. They shut the doors on collaboration. They ignore anyone who dares to challenge their broken system.
And what happens?
Nothing.
Nothing gets fixed. Nothing improves. Nothing changes.
Because ego is driving the decisions instead of solutions.
Well, guess what?
The prison system isn’t a private fiefdom. It’s a public institution. And it’s failing because the people in charge are more worried about protecting themselves than protecting the mission.
It’s time for disruption.
It’s time for accountability.
It’s time for real leadership—leadership that isn’t afraid to say: “This isn’t about me. It’s about us.”
That’s what “we” is about.
And that’s why I won’t stop fighting until we get it.
Rehabilitation Over Incarceration
The Million-Dollar Gift They Refuse to Accept
We need to focus on rehabilitation, not just punishment. That means more programs, more education, and more opportunities for inmates to turn their lives around.
And here’s what blows my mind—millions of dollars' worth of free educational resources are available right now.
I’ve told the highest levels of leadership at the Bureau of Prisons about this. I’ve laid it out plain as day:
These top-tier universities offer online courses, valuable educational materials, entire curriculums—all for free.
Yes, for free.
We’re talking about Ivy League-level education—materials worth millions—available at ZERO cost.
And what did the BOP do with this information?
Nothing.
They ignored me.
They dismissed me.
They turned their backs on an opportunity to transform lives without spending a single taxpayer dollar.
Now, let’s address the obvious:
No, this doesn’t mean giving inmates unrestricted internet access.
That’s the excuse they’ll use, right? “We can’t let them surf the web.”
But guess what? That’s a lazy excuse.
Because a secure, closed-loop system could be created—one where inmates access only this educational material. No outside websites, no distractions—just learning.
This is basic technology. It already exists.
But instead of implementing something that could reduce recidivism, lower violence, and give people a shot at real rehabilitation, they bury their heads in the sand.
They don’t want solutions. They want control.
Because educated people ask questions. Educated people push back. Educated people demand change.
And that’s what they fear the most.
This isn’t just incompetence—it’s deliberate neglect.
It’s time to stop making excuses and start making change. The tools are there. The resources are literally free.
The only thing missing? The will to do the right thing.
Miracles Are Available—But Bureaucrats Would Rather Let America Burn
I am an Ordained Minister, a disciple of Jesus, and my mission is clear—to fight violence, to spread the message of God, and to restore hope where bureaucrats have abandoned it.
?? They say change is impossible. They say miracles don’t happen. But they’re wrong.
I’ve seen miracles firsthand. I’ve worked with people who have walked into hell and brought peace where others failed. But here’s the ugly truth: bureaucrats don’t want peace. They don’t want solutions. They want control.
A GOD-SIZED MIRACLE—And The People Who Fear It
In Suffolk County Prison, gang violence was about to explode. The Crips, Bloods, and Latin Kings were seconds away from an all-out war—a bloodbath waiting to happen.
But then?
Bob De Sena CEO of Council For Unity walked in.
Not with weapons. Not with force. With God.
And in that moment—where the system had failed, where violence seemed inevitable—Bob performed what law enforcement called a miracle.
He turned killers into brothers.
He stopped the war before it started.
And he left sheriffs stammering: “How?!”
So, you’d think the government would have been lining up to embrace this? To implement a proven, faith-driven solution to end violence?
Nope.
?? The government’s response? ?? Crickets.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons? They ghosted my proven plan to end gang violence in Brooklyn’s MDC and other trouble spots.
They’d Rather Watch America Burn Than Admit They’re Wrong
This isn’t incompetence. This is ego-fueled apathy.
Sheriff DeMarco and former NY Corrections Commissioner Bryan Fischer both hailed Bob De Sena and Council For Unity's work as “miraculous.”
And yet, D.C.’s clueless bureaucrats sit on their hands, letting violence fester, letting kids die, letting America crumble—because they don’t want to admit they don’t have the answers.
And that’s just one piece of the puzzle.
I’ve been screaming from the rooftops about this God-Gifted opportunity that the Bureau of Prisons refuses to take
Because miracles are available.
But they only happen when we fight for them.
The Madness Ends Now—But Only With Disruption
President Trump, you built your legacy by doing what others wouldn’t dare.
You took on the political establishment, the deep state, the media machine—everything they said was untouchable.
Now, I’m asking you to do it again.
The Bureau of Prisons is a festering wound on this country. It’s a taxpayer-funded cartel. It’s a swamp inside the swamp.
And it’s time to drain it.
You need someone who understands the system from the inside. Someone who isn’t afraid to call out the corruption, the lies, the money pits, and the incompetence.
Mr. President, appoint me as the Federal Prison Czar.
This isn’t just about fixing prisons—it’s about restoring hope, dignity, and justice to a system that has lost its way.
I don’t need an army of consultants. I don’t need a bloated budget. I just need the authority to fix what no one else will touch.
And if the bureaucrats don’t like it?
Well, they’ll finally understand what it feels like to be behind bars.
Imagine a prison system where inmates leave with skills, degrees, and hope for a better future. A system where rehabilitation replaces recidivism, and accountability replaces corruption. That’s the system we can build—if we have the courage to act
The time for talk is over. The time for real reform is now.
Until Next Time.
Stay well. Swim strong.
Warmly,
David

One More Thing . . .
Investing in solar is smart—but pairing it with battery storage is a game-changer for your bottom line. At Project SunRize, we’re delivering premium Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) at truly disruptive prices, slashing costs while maximizing your energy savings.
? Reduce Peak Demand Charges – Cut utility costs by storing excess solar power.
? Increase Energy Independence – Protect your business from outages and grid instability.
? Stack Incentives & Tax Credits – Take advantage of government and other rebates that can cover up to 70% to 100% of your system cost.
?? THE BIGGEST LOOPHOLE IN SOLAR STORAGE: GET PAID TO UPGRADE Innovation isn’t just a word—it’s profit waiting to be claimed. And for business owners, this might be the biggest no-brainer investment in energy storage history.
For example here is what’s happening right now in California:A hotel needed backup power. They were offered a 418 kWh battery at a disruptively low wholesale price—$210K (not a price that will last). Then the loophole kicked in.
? 40% Federal Tax Credit – (Energy Community Bonus ITC)
? California’s SGIP Program – MASSIVE rebates covering a chunk of the cost
? TCJA Bonus Depreciation – Immediate write-off and tax benefits
?? Final Breakdown:?? Battery cost: $210K??
Total incentives: $219K??
Net profit: $9,000 + a FREE battery worth over $300K at retail.
Yes, you read that right. FREE MONEY + FREE ASSET.
And here’s the kicker: This wholesale pricing isn’t permanent. Once demand spikes, the deal vanishes. And so do the incentives. The window is closing. The opportunity is now.
?? DM me and I will make sure the right person circles back to you
?? Project SunRize BESS – Disruptively Priced. Government-Backed. Profit-Driven.
?? Why overpay for storage when you can get industry-leading BESS at a fraction of the price? Let’s talk about how Project SunRize can supercharge your solar ROI.
