We Have Two Lives, And The Second Begins When We Realize We Only Have One --- Confucius
There is a backstory behind why I talk about Habits, Human Behavior and Personal Development.
For years, I acted with the flow taking whatever came my way.
Irrespective of what I felt, did, learnt, saw, dreamt -- one thing was common.
It was uninspiring.
It was mundane.
It was as cold as ice.
I never searched for inspiration in the true sense.
But I did blame -- People, environment, situations, childhood, fate.
And it took me a long time to realize that though those aspects I blamed had some part in my way of living, it was a very small, tiny part.
I was looking outside when the real thing was within me.
Inside me.
Buried in the deepest crevices of my heart and soul.
Unshaken, dormant, in slumber.
By turn of some events, I was shaken, stirred and awakened.
And I saw a mirror to understand my life.
My plight, my conditions, my mindset, my view-points.
My aspirations, my ethics, my behavior, my faults.
The mirror was so clear that I could see everything.
And everything I saw had one thing in common.
Just one verbatim to thousand questions:
"I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR MY LIFE"
And the second I had this realization, everything started to fall in place.
Things started to be positive. Clarity grew.
Ownership of my life was mine now.
Subdued talents start to reveal itself.
Goals start to build and efforts begin to back it up.
Dreams though distant were visible and it drew inspiration.

More importantly, it drew the drive.
As they say Dreams are not those that you see when you are asleep.
True Dreams are those that does not allow you to sleep.
Taking ownership of my life end to end, cent percent, gave me courage to face some very difficult soul-searching questions.
The answers were even more revealing, liberating.
Showed light at the end of a very long long dark tunnel.
Some of these questions were:
a) What do you really want?
(Hint : It is not -- relations, money, lifestyle, social status)
b) Why you do what you do?
(Hint : Keep asking Why till you feel uncomfortable)
c) Are you really happy with what you do everyday?
(Hint : Dare yourself to be as honest as a mirror)
d) What impact you have on the world and your surroundings?
(Hint : If none, do something today to change it)
And there were few more.
What this reflection and realization did was to find 'THE REAL ME'.
The person I wanted to be (always).
The person I liked to see in others.
The person who inspires others and transform lives.
The person who could make a difference to the world and make it better.
What does your soul-searching say? Have you found your 'REAL YOU'?
