Real World BPM Modeling Patterns

Every ten years or so, task-oriented automation software becomes popular, at least for awhile. Back in the late eighties, the industry referred it as “workflow”, a decade later it was called “process automation”, and ten years ago, it was proclaimed as “business process management”. It’s about time for the periodic resurgence.  Maybe this time, we’ll hail it as “business workflow automation”. Remember, you heard it here first.

I recently completed another BPM engagement and realized that I never got around to documenting my set of process modeling patterns. In preparation for the coming wave of interest in BWA, I wrote a white paper on the more common patterns that I use. Hopefully, people new to this domain will find these patterns helpful.

The whitepaper is located at https://www.wazeegroup.com/documents/RealWorldBPMPatterns.pdf

Enjoy!

Interesting stuff Jim. It's funny how the tech title buzzword might change, but the fundamentals stay, well, fundamental.

My goodness, could BWA be a TLA that we've not already claimed in IT???? It looks like it's available. You should add the trademark symbol!? ?BWA?
