The Real Value of Converdy Funnel Builder - Review From a Beta Tester

Do you get fed up with affiliate reviews of products, services, and software as a service?
I know I do because affiliates will say anything to get the sale. The problem is:
- Most never used the product
- Too many ignore the problems if they used it
- The affiliate is more interested in the sale than the actual value of the product they're reviewing
My Relationship to Converdy Funnel Builder
My review of Converdy Funnel Builder is different because, as I write this, my relationship with Converdy Funnel Builder is that of a Beta tester - not a paid affiliate.
A little over a year ago, I was looking for a drag-and-drop web page or funnel builder. I've been building digital marketing funnels since 2009 and even was a beta tester for Clickfunnels years ago. I ended my use of Clickfunnels a couple of years back because:
- It didn't offer the kind of support needed
- The builder was not advancing and the costs were climbing
- Paying for features that I didn't need (so many features, it was confusing)
- It wasn't as fast as I needed it to be
I've also used funnel builders and web page builders in Wordpress. I was completely unsatisfied with them. Elegant Themes was my main theme source for a web page builder. Within Wordpress, it worked well but...
- Excessive conflicts between plug-ins was always a problem
- Page load speed was very poor - never less than 3-seconds (difficult to get below 10 secs)
- Many Wordpress errors like 500 errors or other server errors when there shouldn't be any
Converdy opened their doors to beta testers promising to build an all-new, fast page speed, drag-and-drop, funnel builder that would be better than anything on the market. Thus, I signed on. As of this writing, they don't have an affiliate program, thus I am not an affiliate.
What's Needed in a Modern Funnel Builder Software
Google tests of consumer use of the web on mobile devises has led to this latest change for Google rankings:
"Great page experiences enable people to get more done and engage more deeply; in contrast, a bad page experience could stand in the way of a person being able to find the valuable information on a page. By adding page experience to the hundreds of signals that Google considers when ranking search results, we aim to help people more easily access the information and web pages they’re looking for, and support site owners in providing an experience users enjoy. "
These web page vitals for web page experience include what Google calls "largest content paint (LCP)." This is how fast your web page loads on a mobile device or any device. The target is 2.5 seconds or less. Why?
Key reasons include:
- 53% of mobile website visitors will leave if a web page doesn’t load within three seconds.
- Nearly 70% of consumers admit that page speed impacts their willingness to buy from an online retailer or service provider.
- A 1-second delay in mobile load times can impact conversion rates by up to 20%
- 79% of shoppers who are dissatisfied with site performance say they're less likely to buy from the same site again.
- As page load time goes from one second to 10 seconds, the probability of a mobile site visitor bouncing increases 123%.
You get the point. There's been much more supporting the "need for speed," but most lead and sales funnel builders have ignored this. Wordpress, in particular, scores at the bottom of most speed test conducted.
Online marketers, business owners, marketing consultants, and smaller agencies also need the ability to:
- Make unique and well-designed web pages and funnel pages for their sales funnels without needing an expensive web designer
- No coding because most of these same folks don't know code, and don't want the expense of hiring coders
- A software as a service (SAAS) platform with a user interface that is simple and doesn't constantly change
- Low cost and integrates with other platforms or services they use
What Has Converdy Funnel Builder Delivered?
Support
Like any "beta" effort, there were bugs.
I judge a beta by it's response because the bugs are what beta is all about.
The Converdy team created a user input site on Conflux. The team did a good job of tracking and updating the input which was a sign of how they may handle support in the future.
Naturally, some ideas were used and some weren't. As I've come to expect, the folks wanting the ideas that weren't used became the biggest complainers.
The support in beta was good. You didn't get told merely to watch a video. If you had questions, they would answer. Twice I had to remind them they weren't finished with my answer, but I never got any resistance or the "you're an idiot user" treatment you get at so many web hosts.
User Interface
Converdy has done a great job of keeping the user interface simple.
While you expect the UI to change often in beta, the Converdy team has kept its overall look and functioning consistent, despite the changes. This is promising for the future of Converdy.
Page and Funnel Design
Initially, there were few templates. Another expectation of the start of a beta program.
Now, there are 39 funnel templates for anything from a simple opt in funnel to a full blown webinar funnel. Some are generic and some are modeled for specific businesses.
The templates provide useful baselines for designing your custom funnel flow. They ensure you can meet Google's expectations for delivering "Great page experience" to your visitors.
Mobile Page Load Speed
This is very important and not so easy to get done well.
Yet, Converdy has truly kept this as a top of the bar requirment. The good news is, Converdy delivers on mobile page speed.
The image above is from one of my funnel pages with 2-YouTube videos embedded.
Embedding a YouTube video is inherently bad for page speed. I embedded 2 on the Converdy-built page, and stilled scored 100 on the Google Mobile Page Speed Insights.
When it comes to mobile page speed, Converdy performs 5-star.
Limitations of Converdy Funnel Builder
Remember first; Converdy set out to build the best fast page-speed, easy use, funnel builder on the market.
If you want a funnel builder that is an autoresponder, blog platform, and everything else a digital marketer wants, then Converdy is not it.
To get back on track - with regards to building sales and lead funnels, Converdy could do better with the controls for the design settings.
They could also use a few more drag-and-drop elements.
For example, the bullet lists are limited to a dot bullet. There's no numbered list element and you can't do image bullets. This may be coming in the final stages of beta.
Styling of images is also limited.
There's no elements for testimonials so you're limited in how you can style them.
That being said, you can make any element you want in any style you desire with custom HTML blocks. It would just be much better if there were more elements of these types already for drag and drop, and the user could just do basics like select colors, size, and text styles.
If you wish to overlap elements, then you will need to know code. As of yet, overlapping elements isn't possible.
The Bottom Line on Converdy
Despite some of Converdy's remaining limitations, its the easiest to use drag-and-drop funnel builder I've used and I'm sticking with it.
It is fast. You can build web pages that give great visitor experiences to your potential customers. You don't need to know any code to do it.
Plus, you can have Converdy host your whole site or use sub-domains on an existing site.
It is an excellent funnel builder and you should look forward to it's launch.
