Real-time audio processing on a Pi

Over the past couple of days, I've been working on visualizing the frequency spectrum of audio. My goal was to wire up a LED matrix with a USB microphone that would listen to music and display the audio frequency. I thought it would be an interesting quasi-art project that would be my first foray into working with any type of hardware. After a couple of hard lessons on how to solder, everything ended up working fairly smoothly. Enjoy the demo below!
